Our guide, Shaun (sp?), was very knowledgeable and seemed genuinely interested in Irish history. We really liked his low-key, laid-back style.
The highlight of this tour was Hill of Tara. We walked up to the top of the hill, from which we had a very nice view of the city.
We would get off the bus to see something quite often, so we were never bored of sitting on a bus for a long stretch of time.
Every stop was interesting and enjoyable, except for maybe the last stop, Drogheda. The historical spots that Shaun took us to were interesting, but the town itself was just OK, compared to other places we'd visited. It would've been nice if we'd been dropped off in a nice area/town where we could walk/shop around for an hour or so instead.
But that's a minor negative point and overall we enjoyed both our guide and itinerary very much.
We really liked our guide, Niall. He was energetic, animated, funny, personable and knowledgeable. During the duration of the tour of about 9 hours, there were only about 20 minutes he was silent - he kept talking for the rest of the time and he didn't even look tired at the end of the day.
He seemed very attentive to our group's particular needs and interests and because our group had quite a few women who were interested in celebrity stuff, he made sure to point out all of the places that had anything to do with celebrity, e.g., celebrity's houses, scenes from movies, etc. Though we did not share the same level of interest as those who took pictures of every celebrity-related spot, we did find the stories Niall shared with us interesting.
It was a good mixture of a nice shopping spot, great natural sceneries and history spots and Niall kept us entertained the whole day. We took a total of four tours while we were there and we are glad we picked this one.
We had a great guide, Magda, who was friendly, patient, accommodating, knowledgeable and above all very passionate and caring about wildlife preservation. Between her and great scenery of the stops as well as wildlife animals we got to see along the way, we enjoyed the tour very much. The only thing that could have made it better was to have fewer people at the glacier, but the tour itself did a great job. Thank you!
