Champagne Region Day Trip from Paris by Minivan

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Excellent trip! Our guide was very informative, we did end up overlapping with another tour in parts that made things a little crowded in the small winery but overall one of our favorite tours. The food was very good, one of the best of all the tours we had done. The small group made it very enjoyable as we ate together making conversation fun. I highly recommend.

Versailles Small-Group Tour from Paris with Audio Guide

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

A necessity! We were debating doing a tour or trying to manage by ourselves, booking the tour was the best decision. Getting to Versailles from Paris would have been a struggle, once there the lines were incredible and we arrived at opening! At least a two hour wait, most likely three. Our guide Stephanie was very organized and knowledgeable, and with the crowds it was important to be with someone who could explain and the headsets were a great asset. Lunch was good. The fountain "show" was really just the fountains being turned on, but one was set to music which was very nice. We did the full day tour which is needed if you want to see it all, as there is more than "just" the palace. The gardens were amazing and it was nice to have a bit of time to explore them on your own. A Wonderful day.

An Evening at Vaux-le-Vicomte Palace including Dinner and Candlelight Visit

Paris, France

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

A very nice evening. If you are planning on going here and Versailles in the same trip go here first. Otherwise you will be disappointed. It was not overly crowded which was nice. They are rennovating the palace right now so there is plastic sheeting on parts of it, but it was quiet and romantic evening. The food was ok, if you are going for the food you will be disappointed. My steak was good, but my husband's fish was a disappointment. They are understaffed at the dinner so we waited a long time. Though we were outside so the view from the terrace was pretty as the candles were lit. The candlelight tour was very good and it was nice not being surrounded by large crowds. A nice evening overall and our guide Bernard was very good.

Paris Pass

Paris, France

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The Paris Pass is a must if you plan on taking public transportation and not having to stand in lines at the museums, especially the Louvre is so easy. The problems with it are it is consequtive so you must use it how ever many days in a row. We lost a day due to a tour. We didn't use the transportation piece as due to our hotel location we could either walk or our taxi rides were about 7 Euros. The good thing is it doesn't activiate until you put the date on it, so we picked it up one day but didn't start using it until the next. The one drawback was having to pick it up at the Hardrock, which was a bit of a walk but the store was packed. Go to the clerk and tell them you are picking up the pass and they won't make you wait in the line. The wine tour mentioned on the pass had a week wait so for us only being there a week was worthless. It was a beautiful week so I'm sure it depends on the time of year. Overall I'd get the Museum pass but skip the transportation due to our location.

Paris City Tour with Seine River Cruise and Eiffel Tower Lunch

Paris, France

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

If you are planning on going to the Eiffel tower during the Spring or Summer a tour is a must due to the lines. When we were there one of the elevators was being worked on so was shut down, the line looked like one for a Disney ride. It would have been a minimum of three hours standing in the sun. You stand in line to buy a ticket then another to go on the elevator. The lunch was cafeteria style but good and the ambiance was great. The tour piece is mostly on the bus and getting you to lunch, after that you are on your own to tour the Eiffel tour and getting to the river cruise. The cruise was nice, you don't really need to buy this tour to get the same thing. The bus tour I could have done without, it was nice to have earphones for the recorded tour on the bus, but it was packed and hot and as this was our first tour after arriving the day before my husband and I both fell asleep on the hot, crowded bus. You would do better to do the hop on and off bus that comes with the Paris Pass. I would do a tour with the Eiffel tower but skip the rest next time and do the Seine on our own.
