Werfen Ice Caves Tour from Salzburg
Salzburg, Austria
My Rating

We read many reviews, but really needed to be reminded that there is an additional charge for the entrance to the cave (18 Euros) and they prefer cash. Also, those of us who were physically fit still had a labor trying to reach the cave entrance with the continual climb uphill. I cannot stress how long this climb is. All I know is you start out in the clear, and when you reach the entrance, you are in the clouds. The size of the group is so large, that you may find yourself far from the guide, not hearing all he says. Many times we were just following in dim light, not sure how far ahead the guide was. Walking in the cave is slippery, tricky, and still quite demanding. I liked the hotel pickup. Our bus guide was humorous. You'll have about 30 minutes to eat after the caves but it is cash only. There were a few awesome spots in cave.

Munich City Hop-on Hop-off Tour
Munich, Germany
My Rating

We did not make it to Munich until late that afternoon/ evening due to train delays and rerouting. We missed the city tour. We missed Munich for that matter and had to zip on through just to make the next train connection to our next destination. Bad day for train travel.

Brussels Chocolate Walking Tour and Workshop
Brussels, Belgium
My Rating

The city tour was just enough walking, just enough history, and just enough chocolate. The guides were personable and relaxed. The chocolate was divine! The workshop was user friendly for beginners. It helped that the tour happened on a rare sunny day.

Zaanse Schans Windmills, Marken and Volendam Half-Day Trip from Amsterdam
Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Rating

This is a large bus tour but this does not detract from the fun. We listened to earphones during travel time to learn about local tour information. We wandered through real villages and saw many windmills. The cheese and clog workshops were small and intimate with great on-site shopping. The pace was not usually rushed except a few times. Lunch was especially rushed. We had to find a restaurant that would let us order AND eat within 35 minutes. Be sure to listen for when the bus departure times are from each stop. We were reminded several times that to miss the bus would mean a hitchhike back to town.

Highlights of Amsterdam Sightseeing Cruise
Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Rating

This tour was a great way to see the quaint little canals of Amsterdam. There are interesting facts told throughout the tour that really increased our knowledge of the history and inner workings of the canal community. It was a little hard to take picutures if you did not get a window seat.

Blarney Castle and Cork Day Trip from Dublin
Dublin, Ireland
My Rating

Our guide was great to give us information while en route to each site. He was humorous as well. We needed longer to see Blarney and the grounds. We had to hurry up to the stone but didn't have time to shop in the nearby village nor explore the grounds. This could easily be a 2 hour trip itself. We traveled to Cork for lunch but again did not have a lot of time for shopping. The stops are often enough that anyone who needs a bathroom break or snack will be fine. There is even time to nap on the drive if jetlag is a problem. The tour was for a group of 12-15 and was just the right size. The Rock of Cashel was a ruin of an old church. It was less appealing than Blarney.

Dublin City Hop-on Hop-off Tour

These buses were all over the city and were easy to find. The guide made the information humorous. We were able to make note of tourist attractions we wanted to visit. The hop on, hop off system also made visiting special sites much easier.
