Skipping the line was so worth it on this tour. The line to get it was many blocks long and we just walked to the front. The negative was St Peter's was closed for a special service that morning and so we could not go there as promised. (and no partial refund) The normal exit from the Sistene chapel was closed as a result and we all got bottled up trying to get out.
We did numerous tours in 3 Italian cities and this was the best one. I think part of the reason was skipping the line but also our tour guide Brent Burton was very good. We booked a private tour for this so it was just my family and the little extra cost was well worth it. Very pleased!
Our least enjoyable of all the tours. This was for two main reasons-we had paid for "skip the line" tickets at the Accademia yet this merely put us in the "skip the line " line which was another 45 minute wait and counted as part of our tour time. The guide tried to talk while we stood in the tour line. It was "a line to get in a line' . Obviously seeing the statute David itself was great.
Secondly , at the Uffizi the guide we had was Italian and hard to understand and droned on about very dry Renaissance art facts .Many people in our group just strayed off as he was so boring.
Well worth the price. Valuable to learn about St Marks. Courteous and knowledgable guide. The line wasn't too bad so "skip the line" wasn't a big deal on the day we were there.
