This was a great deal. We used the pass to come from the airport into the center of Dublin and then continued to use the pass for 3 days. It included the Hop on Hop off tour bus as well as use of city buses. A great way to get an overview of Dublin and to be able to get around the city. There was free admission to a few museums included in the pass as well. All of the drivers of the Hop on Hop off bus tours had interesting commentary but one driver, Eamon, was exceptional. He sang Irish songs between commentary and made the journey an event. Eamon, thank you for such a fine tour. I highly recommend
purchasing this pass.
We took the 'Hop on Hop Off ' pass for 2 days. The first day, we had poor connections on the headsets, and a great number of people shouting into their cell phones on the bus - which made it impossible to hear anything that did come through the sets. Many times, we were either past the site when the information came through or had not yet reached the site. The next day, we had clear speaking on the head sets and a bus with a canopy top protecting us from the sun. The day was informative and worthwhile. Suggestion ** if the bus you are on has poor connections, get off and get the next one and if the weather is hot, look for a newer bus with a canopy. A suggestion for the operators of this tour, disallow cell phone usage on these buses. Insist the cell phones are turned off.
We started the day with great excitement and anticipation but immediately following the second leg of the trip, my husband became very ill. Freddy, our tour guide was exceptional to help me get him back to Florence. He checked train schedules and prices and ensured that I understood how to get back. The owner of Cecio, the restaurant where you will have lunch, was a kind, generous man who drove us down to the train station and offered to call his parents, who were doctors, to assist. I cannot say enough about his kindness and consideration. Grazie. The first 2 legs of the hiking trip were wonderful and I am sorry that we were not able to complete the rest but it will be put aside for another day. A reminder to all who read this review, sometimes what we plan for ourselves is not what fate has in store for us and it is important to enjoy the moments we are given. We will come back to complete the Cinque Terre tour another day.
We arrived in Rome in the late afternoon and met Fabrizio for the guided walking tour as an introduction to Rome. It was cooler in the evening than the afternoon and comfortable to be walking about. Fabrizio is an excellent, knowledgeable guide. He is passionate about his subject material and his city and this comes through in his presentation. He was easy to listen to and eager to answer all inquiries and questions. I would highly recommend this tour as a 'first' introduction to Rome.
