The De Young Museum is one of the many great reasons to visit Golden Gate Park. They always have such varied and interesting exhibits, and the galleries don't get too crowded unless there is a special exhibit. Be sure to also go up into the tower to get a spectacular 360 view of the surrounding area.

This was the first aquarium I had ever visited and it was far more interesting than I would have expected. I fell in love with river otters at this place, and could have stood in front of their tank watching them for hours. I loved seeing all the fish and birds, and the structure itself was so pleasing to the eye that I took just as many pictures of the ceiling fixtures and rooms. It was definitely a highlight of my visit to Charleston.
