If you are like me and have a hard time enjoying museums, then this tour is for you. After a couple hours of time I felt very happy with what I learned and gained a new found appreciation for the art of this period. Highly recommended.

Although I really enjoyed the tour and guide, the crowds during August were unbearable and detracted from what should have been a much more pleasant experience.

Paris Tour de France Bike Ride
Paris, France
My Rating

This tour was novel and the tour company staff were very energetic and upbeat. However, the tour was unable to to go the entire planned route due to unanticipated police obstructions. So we ended up diverging and going through other areas. This was nice, but the guide (being relatively new) did not really make the most of it by giving us information about what we were seeing. It would have also been more enjoyable if some background of the Tour de France was provided along with the significance of the route we were to ride. The idea for this tour is a good one, but there is a lot of room for improvement; particularly for the price we paid.

Overall we enjoyed both parts of this tour. The guides were knowledgeable and friendly. The walking tour only entered the St. Mark's Cathedral, but it was nice to go right in. The tour used headphones, which can be frustrating; I recommend you stick close to the guide as it will help you hear better. The Grand Canal tour was great, but it was in a small boat which was covered in the middle; you had to squeeze outside in front or back with the other participants to really enjoy the sights. Be aware: It was lost on us that the canal tour would start in late afternoon thus we were unable to participate on our original date since we had to report to our cruise ship by 4:00 PM. However, the tour company let us make it up when we returned to Venice a week later. So our kudos to them for being accommodating.

Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour
Venice, Italy
My Rating

This was a nice tour. The Murano glass factory is like a museum; there are very impressive works in there. The only time on that island is in the glass factory. Torcello is historic but pretty quiet. Burano is a bit more lively and quaint. The tour company sells tickets for the exact same tour for 20 euro right in front of the pier so you can also purchase tickets that way.
