2012 London Olympics: Bike Tour of Olympic Park and East London
London, United Kingdom
My Rating

The directions to the shop are a bit iffy, so plan ahead and map out your route before heading out in the morning. The tour itself is great, covering a ton of interesting historical sites in London, as well as the Olympic Park. Our tour guide was Alec, and he was both charming and well versed in English history. He led us through quite a few sites that were off the beaten path, and it was a fantastic experience. Be forewarned though, the ride is a bit on the technical side, leading you through back roads and canals (with no railings). Be sure that you are both comfortable on a bike and comfortable riding in city traffic before booking. You will have an excellent time if you are prepared for this, however.

London Rock Music Tour
London, United Kingdom
My Rating

I am a music fan, and this was my absolute favorite tour on my London trip. The bus was small, comfy and decorated with cool rock memorabilia. The tourguide, Bob, was utterly fantastic. The depth and breadth of his knowledge was impressive, and you could tell that he had a real love for both music and his profession. The tour itself hit a variety of eras and styles of music, much more than I ever expected. I highly, highly recommend it.

Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour
Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Rating

The Red Light District is one of the more interesting areas that I've visited in my travels. Coming from America, which tends to view prostitution in a negative light, it was refreshing to be able to actually speak to a former sex worker about her time in the profession. Our tour guide, Chantal, was fantastic. She's knowledgeable and engaging, and she made an already interesting topic into something that I want to share with my friends. I would recommend this tour to everyone, especially those who view the sex work/prostitution industry in a less than positive manner. Actually speaking to professionals could very possibly change your view on one of the oldest professions in the world.

Dutch Villages and Countryside Bike Tour from Amsterdam
Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Rating

This was a great trip through some really beautiful countryside right outside of Amsterdam. It was pretty fascinating to hear about how the Dutch had shaped the waterways around them, as well as the land. Ingenuity doesn't even begin to describe it.

Versailles by Bike Day Tour
Paris, France
My Rating

This was our second bike tour while in France, and it was every bit as good as the first. Johann was a great guide who made sure that we were taken care of and entertained along the way. Versailles itself is spectacular, and the grounds alone are worth the trip. This will definitely be our go to walking/biking tour company if we visit any other cities that they service.

Paris Bike Tour
Paris, France
My Rating

This is an all around great tour company, and this was well worth the money. Our guide was Stu, who gave us a very entertaining and informative view into French history. The ride itself was challenging, mainly for the density and sheer craziness of Paris street traffic.

Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour
Paris, France
My Rating

This was a great tour, despite the rain. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable regarding Paris history (I believe that her name was Andrea, but I am likely incorrect about this), as well as the chocolate and pastry making progress. The desserts were top notch. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who has a healthy appreciation for sweets.
