Washington D.C., District of Columbia
Add my name to those who said this is a great tour! The bus was clean and on time and had a restroom in it for emergencies. Our tour guide was very informative and funny. He made sure we were always entertained, even when there was a slight change of plan when the boat was late for the lunchtime ride. I thought the boat ride on the Potomac was terrific. We all got a lunch provided by a local catering company, which consisted of your choice of sandwich or salads, chips, a drink, and a cookie. All were fresh and tasty, well worth the $10. There was also the opportunity to purchase your lunch from a refreshment stand at the Jefferson Memorial, if you wanted what was on their menu (not the healthiest option, in my opinion.) The boat was quite large and comfortable, with two decks, restrooms, and dining table seating inside. To my relief, the ride was very smooth in such a large boat and I didn't get motion sick at all. The pilots gave us a narrated tour of what we saw along the Potomac, and we enjoyed it tremendously. There was plenty of time to see everything. It was a cool, rainy day, but we were comfortable on the bus and it was available at all times if you wanted to get out of the weather. I felt sorry for the people on the open bus tours who were out in the weather or had to wait for tour buses to come pick them up. This tour was definitely the way to go, well worth the price. There was a LOT of walking, though, and I wouldn't recommend this for the mobility impaired.
