Skip the Line: Venice in One Day Including Boat Tour

Venice, Italy

My Rating

My Review

If you have just one day in Venice, as I did, this tour is well worth the cost. We started the day with a walking tour through the city learning about the history of many of the sites. After 3.5 hours on our own to shop, eat, etc., we returned to the meeting place for a canal boat tour. There were only 9 of us in the small boat; our guide was fantastic. We learned so much in a short amount of time!

Skip the Line: Vatican in One Day

Rome, Italy

My Review

Make sure to wear comfortable shoes and get a good night's sleep the night before because this tour makes for a long day. However, it was fantastic! We started the day in the Vatican and St. Peter's Basillica. The highlight, of course, was the Sistine Chapel. Our guide, David, prepared us before we entered so we'd understand symbolism. We were allowed about 25 minutes in the chapel to view the frescoes on our own. I could have stayed for the whole day.
The afternoon was spent touring the other basillicas in Rome. An exhausting day, but so worthwhile!

Skip the Line: Crypts and Roman Catacombs Small Group Walking Tour

My Review

What a cool tour! We went to 3 different sites, but my absolute favorite was the Church of the Capuchin Monks. Several centuries ago, the monks took the bones from the crypts and used them to create art on the walls and ceilings. There are also several monks propped up in their robes in varying stages of decay. While it's definitely macabre, it's artistic in its own way.

Best of Rome Walking Tour: Pantheon, Piazza Navona and Trevi Fountain

Rome, Italy

My Review

Our tour guide was great. In addition to explaining the sites on the tour, she also provided information about some of the places nearby which allowed us to visit some things we hadn't planned on. As lovely as the Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Trevi fountain were, the areas were crammed with tourists! Therefore, one of my favorite places on this tour was Piazza Navona. Not only were there fewer people, but Bernini's Four Rivers fountain in the center was magnificent. I think it was my favorite fountain in all of Rome!
