Skip the Line: Small-Group Milan Walking Tour with da Vinci's 'The Last Supper' Tickets
Milan, Italy
My Rating

What a marvellous tour. Our guide, Rafaella, was superb and knew everything there was to know about everything. She marched us round the Duomo, through the Galleria, past La Scala and over to the Castello Sforzesco and we even had time for a coffee break. And then, at the end, the Last Supper. The only negative of the day was that it poured with rain from start to finish. Otherwise our tour gets top marks. It was so good, in fact, that I would do it all again!

Floriade 2012 World Horticultural Exhibition: Day Trip from Amsterdam
Amsterdam, Netherlands
My Rating

We had a thoroughly enjoyable tour to the Floriade, although it was a very long and tiring day - two hours going and inexplicably two and a HALF hours coming back. Plus, we went on the hottest day since 1974 - 38 degrees C and no shade or A/C when you get there. The three of us ended up buying hats to shelter from the sun, so beware if the heatwave continues - bring a hat/unbrella for the sun and wear your sun cream. Also, the places for food don't haven any A/C, so you are going to boil. Apart from all that, it was a great day out, although it wasn't exactly what I expected - I thought it would be fields and fields of flowers. Sure, there were a few flowers here and there, but mostly it was a collection of various 'pavilions' of countries from around the world, stuffed with souvenirs you probably wouldn't buy if you went to Sri Lanka or Yemen. We could probably have returned a lot earlier than the 6:30 pm return slot, but it was certainly an experience.
Would I go again - not sure.

Paris Food Walking Tour: Gourmet French Food
Paris, France
My Rating

This was one of the best things I did on my Paris trip - it was so much fun and I learned so many things. I could never have found all these places by myself. Our guide was delightful and spoke perfect English. Then at the end of the tour, we got to eat all the gorgeous things she bought - divine cheeses, different baguettes, foie gras and plenty of wine to wash it all down. No need for breakfast or lunch! I would do it all again in a minute. Fab tour.
