The tour was entirely too fast and rushed. They hurried us along in Suzhou and advised us not to shop for souvenirs as there would be plenty of time in Zhouzhauang. When we got to Zhouzhuang they rushed us to the gondola ride and rushed us back to the bus. The guide got angry when we requested to use the Toilet. We were not allowed to visit any shops and spent the majority of the 10 hour tour on the bus 5 hours there and back and 1/2 hour between towns for 6 hours total. Two hours were spent eating and at the Silk Factory trying to get us to buy silk. The food was abysmal and when we asked what the seafood was (squid) she lied and said it was pork. The worst tour!!!
The hike of the wall was difficult and remote but worth it. The description had false information and we did not eat at a local family home. It was at the Jade Factory with several other tour groups who were rushed in as herds. The Jade Factory is forced upon you and not mentioned in any of the description for the tour. All of the tour group felt mislead as we specifically picked this Great Wall Tour to avoid the tourist traps. The hike of the wall was the only thing that made it worth the money. However, if you are not in shape, you will struggle!!! It was very steep and rocky climbing.
