Unfortunately there was a triathalon on the day we had scheduled our tour. The company did not seem to have anticipated the problems with street closures very well. We lost a lot of time in the beginning of the day, waiting for a bus to come. Finally we were told they had an alternative bus for us. We boarded and got the front window seats. Then the driver stopped the engine. A few minutes later we were told we had to get off the bus, because a different bus had now come for us. Obviously we did not get the window seats that time. We wasted about 45 minutes with this chaos. Could this have been better anticipated and dealt with?
It rained off and on during this day, and the top part of the bus was wet and sometimes not even usable, since it had no roof.
Some of the guides were quite difficult to understand, others not at all--it depended very much on their accents.
We really liked the Thames river trip very much. The man commenting on that trip was very easy to understand and had a good sense of humor. As we left I tipped him and told him what a good job he had done. He shook my hand and was happy to know that he had been appreciated.
We felt the busses did not come as frequently as advertised, possibly due to the triathalon. We had had no idea in advance that such an event was going to be held.
Alfredo did an excellent job. Our tour was on a Saturday and everything was so crowded that one could hardly walk forward, with other groups criss-crossing. There were simply too many people that day.
