It started off really great, but the last 1 hour is extremely boring - the whole canal experience is really interesting, but every gate can malfunction and take a very long time, so really uneventful towards the end. The guide is mediocre. I would actually recommend people to go north and observe how the canal works from outside (plenty of places you can see), rather than be trapped in a boat!
