Of course Niagra Falls area is amazingly beautiful and the Maid of the Mist was quite an adventure. However besides the natural wonder, the tour just couldn't get started, and once it got started, it just wouldn't end! After my friend and I boarded the bus (on time) the tour guide informed us that there was just one other woman who she needed to pick up. She kept driving around and she announced that the woman is lost and should be coming over the bridge anytime now. The anytime now part turned into almost an hour wait for the lost customer.
My friend and I were signed up for the Canadian side tour only, which should have lasted only 4 hours. We were picked up at exactly 12:30pm, but when we were dropped off, it was already 6pm. This caused us to be behind on other activities that we had planned. We wasted time and had to waste money making long distance phone calls to adjust or plans.
Besides the untimeliness, the tour guide had poor beside manners. She slammed the door in a hostile manner when people got off the bus, she continuously referred to the lost woman by her race and talked about her behind her back with other customers on the tour. Someone got off the bus to find the chronically late person again. However, the tour guide never seem to let her know it was a timed trip and everyone needed to try to respect the time. She constantly referred to everyone as folks and appeared to be very nonchalant about everything. Her sign for tips also also seems desperate. People will tip if the service is good and you wouldn't have to post a sign if you did your job well! It really wasn't worth the money at all, because of all the agitation and the negativity. A beautiful experience ruined!!! Waste of my money!
This tour was absolutely amazing from start to end. The Black River tour was perfect! The stop at the YS falls was only an hour so it was a little difficult to get in the zip line ride that enticed us, but it was gorgeous. The Appleton rum tour was amazing, loved all the rums we tasted. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and entertaining; the bus driver, highly skilled! We did NOT forget to tip them. Thank you!!!

My return from JFK to my residence experience yesterday was rather atrocious. After a beautiful getaway, and an on time arrival, I encountered the most hostile and dangerous commute home. First off, I was told by the Courtesy Desk @ JFK that the van doesn't go to "Harlem" where I live.
After explaining that I was indeed picked up in Harlem, the woman made some arrangements and told me that my driver will be there in about 30min (Courtesy Desk). Almost an hour later the woman came over to me and informed me that the tour operator said that I was a No Show, although I was there by the desk for the entire time waiting; no one called me. She advised me to go ahead and pay for a cab and then try to get a refund later, or try to find another way home! I told her that I will NOT pay $60 for a cab as I wasn't prepared to do that, and I had no other way home.
She said that she had to re-book me and that I would need to wait at least another 30min. I waited for another 40min and then I had to go to the counter since no one was calling me. I was then told that the van is outside and I was escorted by the woman. The driver looked at my address and immediately got very annoyed. He grabbed my luggage and tossed it in the van. He waited for several other passengers at JFK and then headed over to La Guardia for more pick ups. He almost collided with a couple other vehicles twice before stopping at a gas station. He turned up the air condition on full blast, and I sat in the front row freezing. I put on a sweater and scarf and it was still miserable! He asked who was going to my address and then took off driving extremely fast and dangerously careless on the road. He was honked by several other drivers. Once he got to my destination (I was the first drop-off) he sat in the vehicle and I had to tell him that I need to get my bag. He released the brake as I was stepping out of the van, almost causing me to fall. My experience was extremely traumatic and I will NEVER use this tour operator again! The driver should be punished, his van number is #755.
