Our guide Cherry was brilliant. This part of the Wall was very busy. We have previously visited the Mutianyu section which was quieter. This section was also very steep in parts-but still worth visiting. Ming Tombs were interesting. The history of the tombs alone is worth travelling out there.The tour included a visit to a Cloisonne factory although we werent going to visit this but go to a Jade factory instead but luckily we were the only 2 on this tour so we did both. We did have to mention that the Cloisonne factory was part of the tour.Can recommend the Cloisonne giftware. It is beautifully made vibrant colours but expensive. Also the Jade is spectacular and also expensive. Bought Cloisonne because we felt better able to pack in our suitcase and not break. Had lunch included at the Jade factory - don't bother - it was terrible. Watermelon was the only edible dish on offer. But don't let that minor detail discourage this tour.

The acrobat show was terrific. We were once again the only 2 on this tour. The only downside to this tour is that when we got to the theatre there were many tours already there and our seats were not allocated. Therefore we were squeezed in amongst other tourists- they moved some people so we could sit together. Would have thought that prebooking a show would have meant reserved seating. Our seats were the second to last row to the back. We were not late as you are picked up so early - we arrived 35 minutes before the start of the show. The show was fantastic - well worth seeing. The duck dinner was excellent. The restaurant was on the edge of a lake. It included other dishes as well as the duck. A cook stands near your table and slices the duck in front of you. There was plenty of food so much so that we could not eat it all.

This pick up from the airport and the return journey a week later went very smoothly. Frank our driver, both times, was very friendly, chatty, helpful and efficient. In fact he rang us the day before we were due to leave to say that our flight number wasn't the flight he had recorded for us. But all worked out well. Would do this again - saves a lot of frustration.

This is the second time we have booked an Airbridge tour to the Canyon. The coach was magnificent as was the driver/tour guide but there should be a limit on the number of visitors to the Canyon per day. On the day we went it was a National Chinese holiday and the Canyon was packed with tourists so much so that we only had time to visit 2 of the areas. Normally we were told that there are 2000 visitors but this day it had 3500. As we were on a strict time limit to return to the coach all but 2 people returned on time. Consequently we waited for over one and a quarter hours. The air con was not working on the top deck of the coach and many people were very unhappy. To the company's credit we wrote a constructive email about the problems on the day and they were very receptive. Apart from this we are doing the tour again next year with friends. The Skywalk is magnificent - seeing birds fly beneath you is simply amazing. The colours in the rocks change with every change of sunlight or passing cloud.
