Hoover Dam Top to Bottom by Luxury SUV with Colorado River Float
Tour / Activity
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
My Review: We were picked up the Pink Jeep Company, which were fantastic. The trip took about an hour, driving through Boulder City which is small and where gambling is illegal. Our driver gave us history of the area and what the families went through for the build of the dam. We went inside to see part of the power plant where 7 large generators are used to power the electricity for Vegas. The power plant is 7 stories underground. The wall of the dam is huge - really huge. You do not realise how big the whole dam structure is until you are in the boat on the river. The river boat ride was about 15 minutes, but a must as they explain how the gates hold back the water as the dam was being built and their role today. This is where you get an appreciation of the technology back in 1935 which was advanced for its time. The Hoover Dam Tour is a must if you are going to Vegas

New York Dinner Cruise
Tour / Activity
Location: New York City, New York
My Review: The dinner cruise was beautiful. We had excellent food, wine and service. Once you're seated at your table it is yours for the night, and you are free to go out on deck at your leisure. It was beautiful seeing the city lights coming back down the river. It is as romantic as you want to make it, and was a beautiful relaxing evening.

Wine Tasting - Cote de Nuits Region with Two Cellar Visits
Tour / Activity
Location: Nuits Saint Georges, France
My Review: This is a tour with a bit of difference. Our tour guide took us through the vines and the different plots of land, explaining the difference between them. The wine houses we went to were good; we tried both reds and whites. You are under no pressure to make a purchase, but be aware freight costs back to Australia are very expensive.

Bordeaux Wine Day Trip

Location: Bordeaux, France
My Review: As we are Australian wine lovers, we wanted to sample some French wines. This tour takes you to a wine museum showing the changes throughout the centuries, and the merchant houses. Traveling to the chateau's for the tastings the countryside is beautiful. You also visit the wine cellars. It is interesting for those who wish to know how wine is made in France!

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Berlin, Germany
My Review: I had already been to Dachau, but Sachenhausen is worth seeing also. I would limit the concentration camps to no more than two - it is very hard on the heart and mind. This camp is different than the others in the way it was run and the design. It has a single watch tower with guards and guns and the barrcaks facing the tower. A lot of the original buildings have been demolised, but two of the barracks were rebuilt using the original timber. Definately go and see this -- it's a part of history that must never be repeated.

Berlin Bike Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Berlin, Germany
My Review: The tour company is great. The tour is informative and fun at the same time. It is an easy pace for beginners and for children, so it is no problem at all; everyone is made to feel very welcome. It is a great way to see the major sites of Berlin and even some you didn't know about, like the only guard tower still standing which is down a side street. You would never know it is there. Lunch was great at a Tiergarten, and we had a beautiful ride. It is well worth doing.
