Bali Lembongan Island Beach Club Day Trip
Tour / Activity
Location: Bali, Indonesia
My Review: This trip was an excellent value for money. We thoroughly enjoyed the lunchtime Barbecue, the semi-submersible submarine excursion was brilliant, wonderful views of the coral reef and marine world and we put our names down to return to Bali on the Ocean Raft which was great fun. Highly recommend this to anyone, highlight of the holiday.

Bali Sunset Dinner Cruise
Tour / Activity
Location: Bali, Indonesia
My Review: The food was poor, the entertainment was okay, but really the group of Australians celebrating someones 50th Birthday were the highlight and we were very disappointed in what we saw from the ship, this was no cruise! We went a few hundred meters out to sea and then anchored, we expected to view the coastline of Bali. Disappointing!

Singaraja and Bedugul North Coast Bali Mountain Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Bali, Indonesia
My Review: We spent 9.5 hours on a mini bus and only about an hour and a half off to stretch our legs during the whole day. The guide was not very informative. The most we learned was about his religion. We went through a very modern town at the north of the island to be literally dumped at a restaurant on a beach which the guide or your company gets commission for using. There was nowhere else to eat and although the food looked lovely, when you looked closely there were flies crawling over it, even the hot food. I didn't eat anything and my husband had a plate of chips as he knew these were deep fried and not lying around for flies to crawl over. We arrived back at the hotel around 8pm with very sore backsides.

Seaplane Flight to Victoria and Whale-Watching Cruise
Tour / Activity
Location: Vancouver, Canada
My Review: We thoroughly enjoyed the Seaplane trip.We had a beautiful view of Vancouver and Vancouver Island on our outward & inward journey & also a perfect view of Mount Baker. On the Whale Watching boat trip,we saw a pod of transient whales and three pods of Orcas, Race Rocks with plenty of seals and our guide was friendly & very informative. We wouldn't have missed it for the world.

Vancouver Trolley Hop-on Hop-off Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Vancouver, Canada
My Review: The Trolley tour is well run, fun & depending on your driver, very informative. You can get your bearings with Stanley Park & Vancouver, the only downside is it is only one way. You can buy tickets from the guides at the stops for Capillano & Grouse Mountain & catch a coach from two stops which take you directly there.

Koh Samui 4WD Jeep Jungle Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Koh Samui, Thailand
My Review: We really enjoyed the trip; it was great fun, but at times felt they went a little 'close to the edge' - literally. For fun, they often backed right up to sheer drops and slammed brakes on at the last minute. It was great fun, but very scary. Having said that, our driver was excellent at driving and very courteous. The only other problem was that we were the only two English people amongst a group of eight Germans, so we felt a little left out when our guide was speaking, but there isn't much that you can do about that, as we realize that far more Germans were holidaying in Koh Samui than English or Australian.

Koh Samui Round Island Sightseeing Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Koh Samui, Thailand
My Review: It was nice to tour around the Island our first day there to get our bearings. The guide was absolutely lovely, but his English was limited. We appreciate that he is learning the language, but your itinerary does state 'English speaking guide'.

Bangkok Dinner Cruise on the Chao Phraya River
Tour / Activity
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
My Review: This was brilliant. The boat was lovely, and we didn't expect such good live music. The whole event was very romantic. The food could have been better, but the staff more than compensated. Unfortunately, it started to rain after half an hour, but the staff was brilliant in moving everyone down under cover, and when it stopped raining we ventured upstairs where they resumed music and the staff had us all up dancing and clapping. We would do this trip again without hesitation.

Bangkok Canals Cruise including Grand Palace and Wat Arun
Tour / Activity
Location: Bangkok, Thailand
My Review: This was a lovely trip, we enjoyed going around the canals on the boat and seeing how Thai people live and work. We really enjoyed the Palace. Our guide was lovely and extremely informative, although at times it was a little difficult to understand her accent. The only criticism we have is that she sometimes rushed ahead across roads and we had to risk life or limb dodging the traffic so we didn't lose her in the crowds. We were very disappointed to be 'dumped' at the jewelers and left to sort our return journey with the staff, which in the traffic, took over an hour and a half. It would be a much better tour if we had half an hour in the shop and returned by boat. We have always had our trips confirmed by our tour company the day before our trip, although it does state to check ourselves. On this occasion we did have to check as no one contacted us and we had quite a bit of difficulty getting confirmation, which we had to do via the concierge at the hotel.

Symphony of Lights Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise
Tour / Activity
Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong
My Review: The light show wasn't quite as spectacular as expected, but the boat was positioned brilliantly to view it. The trip down the coast of the island and back up along Kowloon was lovely to sit back and watch.

Hong Kong Harbor Night Cruise and Dinner at Revolving 66 Restaurant
Tour / Activity
Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong
My Review: We really enjoyed this, it was lovely to see all the lights on the buildings as it became dusk. We enjoyed the fact that we were given enough time there to eat and take photographs as on a trip to the KL Tower in Kaula Lumpur last year, we were only given an hour and had to rush our food. We enjoyed going to the Temple Street Market, although we could have done with a little more time there, but this was something we could get to ourselves whereas the restaurant we couldn't, so it was very well balanced. The food, we have to say, wasn't the best, but was adequate.

Hong Kong Island Half-Day Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Hong Kong, Hong Kong
My Review: The guide was very informative and cheerful. We could have done with more time at Victoria Peak, but we found our own way the next day. We enjoyed Stanley Market but again, could have done with more time there.

KL Tower Revolving Restaurant Buffet Dinner and Central Market Night Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
My Review: Very disappointed with the guide, friendly but not dressed as all the other guides, and he had a dreadful cold. We didn't feel the food at the restaurant was good value for money and we felt pressured for time.

Batu Caves and Temple Tour from Kuala Lumpur
Tour / Activity
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
My Review: The caves could have been beautiful but the floor and surroundings were very dirty. A man approached us as we got off the tour bus trying to pressure us into purchasing a 'video tour' and our guide didn't assist us in getting rid of him. Didn't like the fact of being taken to a shop and factory and feeling under pressure to purchase something, although the pewter factory was immaculate and quite interesting.

Monkey Beach Excursion including BBQ Lunch from Penang
Tour / Activity
Location: Penang, Malaysia
My Review: Enjoyed the trip but it would have been better if we had a guide with us as the two gentleman who took us on the boat didn't speak English. However, they cooked us a nice lunch. They didn't show us where the monkeys were but a local peddler selling peanuts did and we enjoyed hand-feeding the monkeys. Very picturesque.

Georgetown Trishaw Ride Night Tour from Penang
Tour / Activity
Location: Penang, Malaysia
My Review: Our guide was very nice and friendly. Nice to sample local cuisine. Enjoyed the rickshaw ride but it could have been in a better area than the Red Light District of Georgetown. We and the other five people on this trip felt it was poor value for money.

Penang Hill and Kek Lok Si Buddhist Temple Afternoon Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Penang, Malaysia
My Review: Our guide was smart, polite and very friendly, happy to answer any questions. Really looked forward to the railway trip to Penang Hill but hated being packed in like sardines. Felt very claustrophobic and couldn't see the view as we ascended or descended, which was disappointing. Very enjoyable and made more so by the guide's input.

Admiral Cheng Ho Singapore Harbour Dinner Cruise
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: Perfect weather added to a lovely evening watching the Singapore skyline gradually come alight at dusk whilst eating a lovely buffet. We would have preferred a few other Western options but couldn't really complain about the quality. The staff were smart, courteous and obliging.

Singapore Zoo Night Safari Tour with optional Buffet Dinner
Tour / Activity
Location: Singapore, Singapore
My Review: Unfortunately we had a tremendous thunderstorm on the night of the tour. Our guide was very informative and interesting. The rain seemed to have encouraged the animals to come out and eat after the storm which was great for us and it was lovely to see such large animals so close up at night. We enjoyed the walks that you could go along to view certain animals close up again and the show was okay.
