Overnight Grand Canyon West Ranch Getaway by Helicopter

Las Vegas, Nevada

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
This Heli tour was incredible! It was a once in a lifetime experience for my daughter and I! The check-in process went smoothly, and everyone at the Heliport was very nice and friendly. Our pilot, was very knowledgeable and experienced. We learned a lot of history regarding Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam. We flew literally THROUGH the West Rim of the Canyon with the Mighty Colorado River below… Not to mention the views from the helicopter were breathtakingly beautiful. Once we landed at the ranch we were greeted by a singing cowboy named Casey. He talked about the steer, horses, and cattle that lived on the ranch. Remember, this is a real working cowboy ranch! We were then checked in at the front desk by the nicest and friendliest ladies, named Jessie and Phoenix. We stayed in the Thor Cabin, which was so cute! It even had a loft, and the bathroom had a Victorian Tub in it! There were people from all over the world visiting that day. The sunset horseback ride is a Must Do as well! Our guide “Cowboy Fred” was also very knowledgeable about the ranch as well as the livestock that lived there. We even saw buffalo and baby calfs! At Sunset, we stopped at this lookout point and watched the sun go down while sipping champagne and listening to Cowboy Casey singing songs next to a Teepee. The dinner was great! Everyone enjoyed Casey singing to us! After dinner, we all went out by the campfire, listened to more cowboy stories, and Casey took some song requests! We enjoyed the S-mores too! After a full day of taking in all the fresh air, we turned in. We woke up early the next morning to see the Sunrise. It was a beautiful once in a life time experience! Breakfast was your typical Cowboy Meal – eggs, bacon, potatoes, and biscuits with cowboy gravy. After breakfast, we boarded the helicopter and flew back to Vegas over Lake Mead, and down the Strip. I would highly suggest this tour as the memories my daughter and I have will never be forgotten!

My Review
RED ROCK CANYON Most visitors go to Las Vegas for the casinos and the shows. However, for those who want a little more off the beaten path, 30 minutes' drive away from the Vegas Strip is the wonderful Red Rock Canyon in the Mohave Desert. The sights of the red rocks (as the name suggests) are gorgeous. The area has several different trails varying in length and difficulty, so people of all physical abilities have options for exploring the place either on foot or by car. With few people around and all that majestic nature, the Red Rock Canyon is a gem of a place if you want to get away from all the din of the strip for some peace and quiet.

ROMANTIC DAY AT HALF MOON BAY! Looking for the perfect romantic getaway, a short distance from San Francisco? Look no further than the coastal community of Half Moon Bay. This beach town has miles of beaches, restaurants and a charming downtown Main Street. It takes 30 minutes or less from San Francisco so you can plan a quick trip or a more leisurely one and still have time to relax and enjoy yourself. Make sure you stop at 1 or 2 of the many vegetables/fruit stands!!!! Patti R - July 2010
