San Francisco Waterfront Segway Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: San Francisco, California
My Review: My husband and I loved this, but we were paired with a woman who scared the heck out of me. I watched her lose control twice on the Segway machine and it made me nervous to be anywhere near her. They set you up with a quick video, a practice session and go through the bascis of getting on and off with you before you leave for the open road. It's really easy to move, but if you go too fast you have to counteract your intuition and make yourself pull back with your feetbutt. If it hadn't been for the lady who kept crashing I would've had more fun, but having said that watching her crash made me more careful and that was probably a good thing. These machines can hurt you if you aren't paying attention. Pay special attention getting on and off the machine. I got off it and steered the machine over my ankle at one point. It hurt, but I was too proud to admit it so kept the pain to myself. Still, I think I'll buy one for my own fun someday. I really liked our guide.

Winchester Mystery House Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: San Francisco, California
My Review: Super fun. It was a nice tour. We took our time going through the house, but in the end in order to get really good photos, just buy the book in the gift store. Most of my film was wasted due to lighting. It gave me a few ideas for when I build my own house. I also really loved the gift shop. I spent a lot of money there.

Alcatraz Tour plus Muir Woods, Giant Redwoods and Sausalito Day Trip
Tour / Activity
Location: San Francisco, California
My Review: It was a long-ish day, but fun. We had lots of time for everything - luckily for us, everyone on the bus paid attention to the time and got on the bus when we were told to, so we had time to enjoy all of the stops without feeling rushed. The woods were beautiful and majestic. I just wish we had had more time to finish walking the whole trail. We had to turn back so we wouldn't miss our bus. Alcatraz rocked (pun intended)! We loved it. Next time we would book a night tour, as you get to see and do more -- some areas are not accessible on the day tours. We spent two hours on the Rock and that was exactly enough time. And we walked everywhere! Also, lunch at sausalito was very serene.

Napa and Sonoma Wine Country Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: San Francisco, California
My Review: Enjoyed it mostly because our bus driver was hilarious! He knew so much history. He was great! I didn't mind that he talked the whole tour. We had a great group of people on the bus who stayed on time, which gave us a lot of time to have lunch and even get some shopping in before having to leave. The first winery had the best wine. They had a white that looked rose and was their reserve vintage. It was the best wine we tasted the whole day. The second winery was Italian, and the guide was an old Italian who talked WAY too much about nothing. The third winery looks the most expensive, but the wine was disappointing. Still, it was a great day with a wonderful bus driver guide.
