There was no bus marked "Hop on Hop Off", but we were told all trip buses were HOHO. The Hamburg bus had no translation ear phones and everything was in German only. Once in a while the driver gave a very small review in English. Even with the map, we were very confused as to what we were seeing. I would not book this HOHO again.
This was a wonderful HOHO. We were greeted with smiles everywhere. The driver we had on the Green and Red HOHO was fabulous. He took us on the regular tour and also stopped long enough to explain about the author of The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo; the area where lots of information about the area where the books took place; the office of the author. It made the books and film come alive. It was a great way to see the city and meet a lot of friendly natives.
Wonderful city and the HOHO was right at the end of the dock at which our ship was located. Very friendly people and the translation information was up to date and easy to understand. I believe this was our favorite tour. There was a festival going on in the town and the town square. While we ate lunch, there were two different orchestras and people in costumes walking through the square. A mistake we made was getting off at the lower stop for the town. We should have gotten off at the upper stop near the palace and walked down. Long hike up, but we did enjoy some local art along the hike up. The HOHO took us back to the dock as well. Worth the fee.
