Beautiful Barbados Coastal Sightseeing Tour

Our driver, Colin, picked us up from outside the port area right on time and he provided a lot of interesting commentary throughout the day. There was only one other person on our tour, so there were just three of us in the cab. This tour does not include entry into any attractions. It's just a "drive around." That was disappointing. The included lunch was fine--nothing spectacular. It was nice not having to cope with the crowds on the ship tours. That's why I always check out Viator when I take a cruise to see if they have comparable tours. When they do, their options are always cheaper than the ship's. My only complaint was that Viator's directions about where to meet the tour were not clear. They indicated "the roundabout in front of Diamonds International" which is inside the secure port area. Actually, you have to make the short walk outside the secure area to a roundabout on the other side of the gate. We were early, so we had time to figure it out, but if you are short on time, you might get frustrated.

We had a first rate guide. The destinations were interesting, but what I enjoyed most was taking the ferry to Sweden and coming back over the bridge.

Because the schedule of the three lines, you have to carefully plan where you want to go to take advantage of the tour. We managed to do so and had a wonderful day.

Great views and excellent food. I liked that fact that the dinner wine was included in the cost of the meal. One thing to note: We were in the neighborhood of the dock the day before our tour, and I stopped by to double check that the company had our reservation. They didn't. They were able to confirm after a while, but they said they frequently had this problem with Viator.

The early boats were fine, but as the day wore on, the boats were late and packed. At the end of the day, we ended up close enough to our hotel to walk instead of waiting for the boat that would have taken us right across the street from the hotel. We noticed when we got there that we beat the jam packed boat by ten minutes!
