Sightseeing Bike Tour of Krakow

Krakow, Poland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

The owner and guide for the pushbike tour was Mike. He was on time at the meeting point and very easy to talk to. The tour went for 4 hours and Mike had organised lunch at a restaurant in the Jewish Quarter (own expense, a great traditional Polish meal at a special tour price). Mike was extremely knowledgeable and took the tour at an easy pace. Mike was very happy to stop and start to allow us to take photos along the way. The push bikes had wide tyres and even better for the girls, wide seats!!! Very enjoyable tour and worth the money. I'm 54 years old and hadn't ridden a bike in some time but thoroughly enjoyed the day.

Krakow Super Saver: Auschwitz-Birkenau Half-Day Tour plus Wieliczka Salt Mine Half-Day Tour

Krakow, Poland

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This is the most sobering experience of my life. A must see for anyone who visits Poland and particularly Krakow as Auschwitz is only an hour away. Once at the Camp the organisation of the tour is wonderful. Each group is allocated a guide - based on the language you speak - and then you walk around the to get grounds. The guide is extremely informative and at no time are you rushed to get to the end of the tour. At Auschwitz 1, the personal belonging of millions of Jewish people such as spectacles, pots and pans, prayer shawls, shoes, teeth and human hair are all on display. Towards the end of the tour you are taken to see the Crematorium and "shower block". This is very moving to say the least. To anyone who thinks this didn't happen, get to Poland and take the tour. Worth every dollar.

Stonehenge, Windsor Castle, Bath, and Medieval Village of Lacock Including Traditional Pub Lunch

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

I have been very fortunate to travel much of the world but Stonehenge is the most underwhelming and disappointing thing I have ever seen. A group of rocks on the side of a busy motorway. We were given 45 mins to see the thing but 4-5 mins would have been ample. At Bath, the Roman Baths were filthy. The water was green and algae floated on the surface. I saw this on Getaway ( TV show in Australia) and thought how beautiful it all looked. Crystal clear water and bright white columns and pillars. Boy did they clean it up for the TV cameras. Windsor Castle is a first class attraction and well worth seeing. A highlight of the day was the luncheon to the 'old' pub. The publican was very informative of the history of the little village and the pub. The food was home cooked and delicious. Windsor Castle and the pub get 5 stars, the other two I wouldn't rate other than to say 'been there, done that, never do it again'

Small-Group Gallipoli Day Trip from Istanbul

Istanbul, Turkey

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
My mother and I went to Gallipoli with the express purpose of visiting a family member buried at Lone Pine. Our Turkish guide was the most respectful person we had come across in a long time. Although we only had 20 minutes at the Lone Pine Cemetery at no time were we given the rush and the other people on our tour shared our moment as we laid flowers and a flag. The day was a very long 18 hours 10 hours in traveling time but worth every dollar and hour, especially if you are an Aussie. I would definitely recommend this trip as a must do!
