Florence, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
This was so much fun! I highly recommend spending an evening in this class. It's all interactive and done in groups so even if you don't cook, you'll have fun! We made Gnocci, Chicken and Tiramisu. It was s ton of fun and the food was great! They give you the recipes to take with you, too. Had a blast!

Chianti Region Wine-Tasting and Dinner Half-Day Trip from Florence

Florence, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review
Buyer beware! Read the details. I was so disappointed in this trip. We went to a beautiful castle and tasted 2 wines and 1 desert wine. Each our was about 3 sips. That was the entire wine tasting! From there, we went to 2 small towns. Greve, where we could pay 20 euro to taste wine in a wine shop or roam the town, which took 10 minutes on a 40 minute stop. Then we went to Castelina for 40 minutes. Again, we could pay to taste wine in a wine shop or shop, but everything was closed. Then we went to dinner in Donato Poggio, which was actually tasty. We were told we would each get one quart of wine with dinner and if we wanted more, we had to pay. The restaurant had bottles on the table and I felt like we each got a generous portion, more than a "quart". All in all, this was a waste of a day and money. They should not advertise this trip as "Wine Tasting". They should call it "Small Town Tuscany Souvenir Shopping". When I came home and I reread the details they had it all spelled out, but no one on this trip was happy as we all felt ripped off.

My Review
This was a great tour! We started out in Siena which is just beautiful. Then we had an amazing lunch at a farmhouse that makes their own wine, cheese, etc. It was one of the best meals I had during the entire trip. And the landscape was stunning! Then on to San Gimignano, which is gorgeous as well. The only thing to do in Pisa is look at the leaning tower so unless you're dying to see it, you could take the tour without Pisa. The area from where our bus parked to the walled area where the tower is reminded me of Mexico. It was cool to see the tower, but could have lived without it. All in all, I recommend this trip. Our tour guide was great, and kept us right on schedule!

Capri Day Trip from Rome

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
This was the highlight of our trip! Capri is amazing! The trip was very well planned, a 3-hour bus ride from Rome with one short stop along the way. Then a 45 minute boat ride, followed by a well organized tour of the island. The Blue Grotto was closed, but it didn't ruin the trip. We took the funicular up to the main part of Capri and walked around to the most stunning spot on the island. Then took a smaller bus up to Anacapri, ate lunch and walked around. Overall a great day & highly recommend this trip! One tip When you get off the bus at Anacapri, before you go up the stairs, turn around and cross the street. There is a shoe maker who hand makes sandals in less than an hour. You choose the straps, etc, and he'll measure and make them while you're touring and eating so they're ready before you leave. There is another in Anacapri up the stairs and to the left, which are fancier, but over 200 euro.
