Murano, Burano and Torcello Half-Day Sightseeing Tour

Venice, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review
It was poorly organized, difficult to meet tour guide, and difficult to hear the tour guide on the boat. we spent considerably more time traveling to the destinations than visiting them. The Murano glass tour was nothing more than a tourist trap designed to benefit Murano. Torcello was a very long walk to a church that you had to leave as soon as you saw it so that you could make the very long walk back in order to not miss the boat. Burano appeared charming, but again, our stay was limited to about 40 minutes which left little time to explore.

Spectacular! Our guide was a 5 star professional. We learned wonderful, fascinating things about Pisa. We were not rushed or brushed off. Our questions were encouraged. Our first sight of the tower was a thrill and our tour was captivating from start to finish.

Pompeii and Amalfi Coast Small Group Day Trip from Rome

Rome, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review
I will be surprised if you haven't heard other people complain about this particular guide. He was so unprofessional that we wondered if this was being filmed for a 'hidden camera' show. Our guide began his tour by smacking a woman 3 times on her shoulder with his guide umbrella in order for her to stop talking. He explained that his time was so valuable he couldn't waste a moment asking her to stop talking. He continued the tour along this same vein and insulted his group several times, admonished a young boy from another group for trying to fill his water bottle it was 97 degrees, and generally leaving such a poor impression of Pompeii that I doubt we will ever visit again. I had visited 19 years ago and couldn't wait to return. I often said I could spend a week there as the treasures to be seen are limitless. I was severely disappointed with this tour. It was abundantly apparent that this guide has 'burned out' and desperately needs to find another profession. Shame on him. There was no pride or professionalism in his work. Our Amalfi guide, on the other hand, was delightful and enthusiastic. I would recommend staying in Amalfi longer than we were able to on this tour. It took much longer to get there, and home than we spent visiting. Not worthwhile in my opinion.

My Review
Exactly as we had hoped it would be! The weather was nearly 100 degrees. We spent a significant part of the tour outside, yet our guide was always conscious of the shade and the information she was sharing. We felt like our tour was informative, interesting, and worthwhile. It couldn't have been better!

There simply is nothing better than getting off of a crowded airplane after nearly 8 hours and having someone waiting for you to take you to your hotel room immediately. We found our driver immediately, the car was air conditioned, he handled our luggage, and proudly gave us interesting tidbits as we drove by Roman landmarks on our way to the hotel. It was an affordable ride that was efficient and convenient. I would definitely use this service every time I visited Rome.
