Tarragona and Sitges Small Group Day Trip from Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain
My Rating

The aqueduct was absolutely amazing, and to get to walk over it even more amazing. The photo is good, but does not give you the true impression of how large and impressive it is. It was worth the trip itself. I had seen the ones in Seville, but this absolutely blew me away, there is just no comparison. It was made even more interesting by the information that our guide, Nick, provided. He did a great job of making it a fascinating trip. Sitges was also a very fun place. We enjoyed a seafood lunch looking out over the sea. It just doesn't much better. I might go on a day other than Sunday, as many of the shops were closed. Be ready to be impressed by the Roman ruins in Tarragon. I was an interesting place to just stroll along the narrow streets. The entire day was a relaxing highlight of our trip. Explore Catalunya does a great job with their tours and we enjoyed the ones from this group the most of all our tours.

Our trip started out with a very bad minibus ride to the place where we met the larger bus to go to Granada. That minibus was in such terrible shape that I was not sure I could stand to spend the day on it. The seats were broken and there were no springs in the seats and you just bounced and bumped around to an extent that was absolutely unacceptable. It is hard to rank the tour after that ride. The tour guide we had was informative, but seemed more concerned about the small group signed up for lunch, then he was about the larger group. I do not know where the sign up was for lunch, but it was not an option when I signed up. It seemed like the rest of us were sort of dumped at the Department Store. I do not blame this on our guide, it just seems like a flaw in the structure of how the tour is structured and the way we could sign up for it. I really enjoyed being able to ask the guide questions and know that he had studied and had ready answers for me. The guide gets higher ratings than the tour.

Nerja and Frigiliana Day Trip from Costa del Sol
Costa del Sol, Spain
My Rating

The cave was fascinating. More information on the caves would have been good. I would have appreciated a recommendation for lunch. It would have been nice to have a bit more time at the first village shop, also would have been good to get there after the shops had opened, some were still opening as we left..

Gibraltar Sightseeing Day Trip from Costa del Sol

Really liked the tunnels, it was especially good, as the guide was outstanding. He had previously been in the army and worked there in 1981 or 2 and was British and made the tour really come alive. The cave was interesting and again a little more information would have been good.

5-Day Morocco Tour: Casablanca, Marrakech, Meknes, Fez and Rabat
Costa del Sol, Spain
My Rating

There were some definite issues with the bus that interfered with the enjoyment of the tour. Some seats were broken, arm rests were broken, air vents could not turn on or turn off and the cushions were so broken down that you were sitting on a bar. If I had it to do over again, I would select a tour that skipped Casablanca - not much benefit from the overnight there. I would also skip Marrakech as the market is much better in Fez and there was a lot of driving to get the group down to Marrakech and back again. Had a great time in Fez. We went to the extra dinner in Fez and that was good and was fun. We also went to the extra dinner in Marrakech - we did not feel it was a particularly god use of our time - plus it was very cold so you need to take a warm jacket if you go). Would recommend a shorter tour to Fez.

Girona, Figueres and Dali Museum Day Trip from Barcelona

Guide in Girona was excellent and really filled with information. The guide on the bus was okay. The museum was filled with amazing work of Dali, but the ride back is long. It was nice to be able to go both places one day.

Small-Group Medieval Villages Day Trip from Barcelona
Barcelona, Spain
My Rating

Julia was great. She answered all our questions and more. The villages were fascinating and her information added greatly to our enjoyment of the trip. It was a great day, the best of our trip. The authentic meal we had in Rupit was fun and just enhanced our enjoyment of the day. We loved getting off the beaten track and learning so much in such a beautiful area. Can't say enough good about Julia.

Did not feel like we got enough information from our guide and did not understand what we were seeing. The Cog Railway is definitely worth it. It was cloudy the day we were there, so the views were not available, but the guide had nothing to do with that. Also, he talked too fast - seemed like he was in a hurry and it made him hard to understand - others commented on that also, The best way to see the area.

Skip the Line: Best of Barcelona Tour including Sagrada Familia
Barcelona, Spain
My Rating

Nick was great and really seemed interested in answering all our questions and making sure that everyone could hear him and understand what he was telling us. His English was very good and he was a great guide. The things we saw were great and going to the head of the line at Sagrada Familia was absolutely worth the price. It is an amazing place. Nick was very good on the walking tour.

Barcelona Airport Arrival Shuttle Transfer

My Rating

Disappointed at not finding the driver at the airport and then calling and being told he was there. Took us two hours to connect, even when we were told on the phone that the driver was there, he was not. I am 71 and he could have offered to pull my suitcase after such a long wait, but did not. Seemed uninterested in picking us up.
