Cilipi Folklore Tour from Dubrovnik

My Review: The trip up to the village could easily be done by taxi or bus from Dubrovnik. I say this because we were picked up at 9 or so, went to the village and unless you wanted to go to Mass (which we did not) there was nothing to do except go thru a small museum, see some merchants with their local crafts outside selling their goods and then sit and wait over one hour to see the show. Even if you went to the Mass which finished at ll am, by the time you got out there would be very few good places to sit (you actually sit on the church steps to watch the show). So as I said if you wanted to see the show you would be better off arriving a half hour or so before ll am, try and get a step and then go back by cab or local bus. I would not recommend this tour.

My Review: I enjoyed this tour. Elvis (our guide ) was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It gave you a good overview of the town and some of the history. It was just enough time and information and left you lots of time to explore on your own. I would recommend this tour.

My Review: While not a bad way to get your bearings, the bus trip itself was only ok. A good protion of the time was spent in the diamond factory (which was ok with me) but not of great interest to others members of my party. Paula

My Review: The package has interesting things included, but the bus is awful. Most buses have inadequate speakers so that you cannot hear what the guide is saying. This is too bad because they appeared quite knowledgable. The guides also seem to be unhappy with their employer and voiced their opinion openly, saying that they take money but don't provide proper sound systems (which of course is true). In addition to the poor sound system, they did not appear quite as often as the competition which seemed to be at the stops every 10 minutes.
