Stunning. Firstly you visit Monet's house and gardens at Giverny. It was a lovely sunny day and the gardens were breathtakingly beautiful, a photographer's paradise. My advice would be to start in the Japanese gardens, which are through a tunnel on the opposite side of the road from the rest of Monet's estate. Then visit the rest of the gardens/house, which brings you out near the gift shop/exit. Next stop is the Mill at Fourges for lunch. Food was excellent and the location very pretty, on the river, behind the lovely old mill. Then on to Versailles, we went on a Saturday so the fountains were running and music playing in the gardens; amazing. Fountains only run on the weekends. Only negative point was the massive crowds especially at Versailles, where it could at times be difficult to stay with the tour guide! Long, long queue for toilets at Versailles, be warned! Bus very comfortable and tour guide was great! Highly recommended.

Meet at Rue de Rivoli for coach transfer to the Eiffel Tower. Skip the lift queues at Eiffel Tower (these were HUGE when we were there as only one lift was in operation), and get straight up to the restaurant. This tour does not include access to the top floor but you can buy an extra ticket if you wish and if you are prepared to brave the queue for the lifts! Food was very good; our experience was slightly tainted by the very brash and rude American at the next table who complained about EVERYTHING and swore at the waiter (the problem was not the waiter's fault!) However this did not spoil a lovely evening and the waiters were kind enough to sing Happy Birthday to my son's girlfriend and put a candle in her dessert! The restaurant has several sittings so there is no time to linger there after dinner. The boat trip was beautiful (we went on the 9pm boat after dinner) and the Eiffel Tower sparkles for 5 minutes every hour from dusk, so on our return at 10pm it looked absolutely amazing. Just be aware that there is no return to Rue de Rivoli by bus so you need to get home yourself. Not a problem for us as we stayed 10 minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower. A lovely evening and finished off Susie's birthday perfectly!

Well worth the cost, to skip the very long queues in the summer (except for the towers at Notre Dame, no queue skip there). Transport pass was invaluable. We had a 6 day pass and still didn't manage to use everything!

Stunning glacial lake, well worth the long drive. Boat trip was fantastic with informative guide. Highly recommended. Beautiful waterfalls along the way. Better to take your own food as meal stops not so great. An unforgettable day.
