2-Day Italy Trip: Naples, Pompeii, Sorrento and Capri
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: It felt like the 45 minutes we spent touring Naples was a waste. The tour group was rather large and the guide had to translate into English and Spanish at each place we stopped at. I felt like it was such a blur and almost not worth the stop. Pompeii was great. We got to see all the major highlights and I was pleased with the amount of information the guide shared with us. I was a little discouraged to find out we weren't given a tour of Sorrento. We basically had our hotel there for the night and that's it. If you wanted to explore, that was in the evening after you ate dinner. Capri was great, but just so everyone knows, you only have a 30% chance of seeing the Blue Grotto, even on a nice day. Don't be surprised if you don't get to go.

Ghost and Mystery Walking Tour of Rome
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: I wasn't a huge fan of this tour. I thought it would include ghost stories and be scary, but it was mostly just legends of different things that happened. My least favorite part was that the tour gets done really late and nowhere near a metro stop. I went on a Sunday, so by the time the tour was done, my only options were to wait for a bus or take a taxi back to my hostel.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This was such a great tour. I felt like we had plenty of time to see everything. I'm glad I paid for a tour of the museums, chapel, etc. because I got to learn so much history that I wouldn't have learned on my own. Very educational.

Best of Rome Afternoon Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This was a great introduction to Rome. I went on the tour towards the end of my trip because I couldn't fit it in towards the beginning. I still enjoyed walking from piazza to fountain, etc. It's definitely a lot of walking, but we went at a good pace for the group.

Skip the Line: Crypts and Roman Catacombs Small Group Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: Great tour! I learned a lot of history from the tour guide. She gave us plenty of stories on the bus between sites so there wasn't a moment wasted.

Florence Day Trip from Rome
Tour / Activity
Location: Rome, Italy
My Review: This was a great day trip out of Rome. We spent plenty of time at the museum where Michaelangelo's David is located. My only complaint is that we had about an hour free time in an area where there wasn't much to do and I was nervous about wandering too far alone.

Normandy D-Day Battlefields and Beaches Day Trip
Tour / Activity
Location: Paris, France
My Review: I went on this trip alone figuring it was something I needed to see at some point in my lifetime. The museum was the first stop and we had an hour to walk through the different exhibits. I felt like I had enough time to see everything I wanted to see there. Lunch was tasty and we were given 2 bottles of wine per table. Visiting the different beaches was great! The tour guide was very educational and I learned a lot about D-Day that I had never known. Prepare yourself for a long day, though. I found myself falling asleep some as we drove the 20-30 minutes between beaches. It can also get pretty windy, so prepare yourself for the wind. Oh, and if you are interested in collecting sand from the beaches, don't forget plastic bags! I wish I had though to bring some.

Mont Saint Michel Day Trip
Tour / Activity
Location: Paris, France
My Review: I'm 24 years old and went on this trip by myself. The guided tour of Mont Saint Michel lasted about an hour and 15 minutes. Afterwards, we were able to walk around the abbey ourselves, as well as check out the souvenir shops and restaurants/creperies. This is definitely a unique trip and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Loire Valley Castles Day Trip: Chambord, Cheverny and Chenonceau
Tour / Activity
Location: Paris, France
My Review: I am 24 years old and went on this trip with my boyfriend. We both loved it! Our tour guide spoke both English and Spanish, so we can to be patient and wait our turn for the English translation of everything. There was some free time to explore each Chateau ourselves and wander the gift shop. I'd suggest this trip for anyone who would like to get away from Paris for the day :)

Heidiland and Liechtenstein Tour from Zurich: Two Countries in One Day
Tour / Activity
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
My Review: It was great to see the countryside of Switzerland and go to Liechtenstein, but you're basically on the bus for the majority of the day. The commentary is helpful, but there is little time to do exploring of your own in each stop.

Lucerne City Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
My Review: I decided to do the Lucerne City Tour because it would have been more expensive for me to just hop on a train from Zurich and go to the city for the day. The short city tour only includes you stopping at the dying Lion monument to take pictures. After that, you're dropped off in the city, given a map, and told when to return to the bus. Lucerne is a great city and it's worth a day trip, even without a guide telling you all about the history and such. If you're looking for some free time, definitely do this tour, but if you're looking for something with a tour guide all day, this isn't for you.
