To tell you the truth, Murano was very disappointing, We were herded like cattle into a factory, stood on steps to watch a glass blowing demonstration which many could not see, then into a shop followed by salespersons...My group was disappointed that they did not have time to even wander down the street and were net even encouraged to do do..We could have booked a free tour through the factory and would have been well aware that we were expected to buy something expensive..
Now Burano was beautiful and no one was pushing their "wares". We found it quite nice and welcoming..colorful with pleasant merchants and restaurants..Torcello was quiet and nice to see but not worth the time. Almost depressing in that the economy has left it very isolated and depressed. My group would have just liked to see Burano alone and spend the rest of the day in Venice.
