Washington DC Night Tour

My Review: We met at the designated location to board our tour bus. The group was to be no larger than 35 people, but was much larger. Due to the large number, we were moved from a smaller bus to a large bus. Because of this, we ran short on time and did not get to get out at the Jefferson Memorial, due to needing more time to load and unload the large bus. This was disappointing. At our first stop, a light rain began to fall. We were prepared for this but others were not. By the time we reached our second stop, our guide decided to have the group wait, in the rain, while those who needed umbrellas bought them. We were not happy with this choice, since we knew this tour went rain or shine. I understand our guide's intention to be helpful, but for those of us who were prepared, it was a waste of 20 minutes. Our guide was very knowledgeable about what we were seeing. However, it would have been helpful, if the driver had squeegeed the tall windows during our stops so that we could see what he was talking about. All said, the tour was very enjoyable and inspiring. We had viewed the same sights during the day, but had a new appreciation for their beauty seeing them illuminated.

Waimea Canyon Bicycle Downhill

My Review: After a beautiful ride up to Waimea Canyon, in our van, we were struck breathless with the beauty of our surroundings! Our guides narrated the entire trip so that we could more fully enjoy the sights. They made us feel safe about our downhill biking experience--not a small thing for someone like me who has not been on a bike in forty years! We never felt rushed as we biked and stopped several times to take a closer look and enjoy a refreshing snack. Then we were allowed to go FASTER on the last stretch of road, if we chose to do so. And several of us did--what fun!!
