London Shared Arrival Transfer: Airport to Hotel

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

Our driver was courteous, but he was late. We had to call the office who texted him to get to our location. Then he grabbed two suitcases and ran nearly 100 feet ahead of us never looking back to see if we could keep up. He nearly went up the elevator without us being with him and our suticases! We had to go to a parking garage to find his car, which was about a 3 block walk. He was a good driver, but did not want to interact with us. I have had better experiences than with this transfer.

Amsterdam Red Light District Walking Tour

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Well, who wants to go to a Red Light District? The truth is that it exists and one should at least know the back story. As a previous reviewer said that convinced me to take this tour was that it truly is anything but sleezy. This is not a lecture, but a peek at real humanity, knowing the whys, the hows, and the who's. The "sex worker" can be appreciated as being human and were it not for the money, probably wouldn't do it. The tour guide was a pro and the group discussion with the maddam brought home the fascinating world that these women face.

Floriade 2012 World Horticultural Exhibition: Day Trip from Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

Two plus hours of travel to this site is quite a distance. The guide was not very talkative about the country, so some good time to sleep. Floriade is overrated even though there are some interesting buildings with fine floral displays. The venue is huge (seemed like 300 acres) with a LOT of walking. The most fun thing was the sky tram. The world showcase was a bunch of people from Kenya who did their tribal dances with mostly drums. Lots of great costumes and crazy dancing. Overall it was interesting, but a very tiring day.

Holland in One Day Sightseeing Tour

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

This tour included a visit to a farm to see cows, learn how and see wooden shoes be made, and eat some great cheese. Following came the visit to Rotterdam - a beautiful city, but we stayed mostly in the bus (we were tired of walking anyway!). Then on to The Hague to see the world court building, many fascinating embassies, more good history, and then a visit to the miniture exhibition of Mauradam. The last part you would need no more than 30 minutes to see the whole thing. But this tour really gives you the essence of The Netherlands and I can highly recommend it.

Bruges Day Trip from Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

This was an interesting city and it does get you into Belgium. But the guide had no fundamental knowledge of the city, minimal historical presentation, and it takes two hours to get there. The guide first took us to her friend to do another canal boat tour during which it was hot, easy to get sunburned, and saw very little of the city as you sit quite low. This city seems to be copying Amsterdam. After the boat tour, you are completely on your own for shopping or eating. No visits to any key buildings, cathedrals, or points of interest. As one reviewer put it, it was all about commercialism, to see you Belgian chocolates, mussels, and lace. Was a very tiring and hot day unless you are just into shopping.

Amsterdam Canal Bus Hop-On Hop-Off

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

There are three lines and a 48 hour pass allowed us on all three. We thought we could use this to get around the city, but were wrong. It is way to slow and you see lots of row houses, but very little of the city. The trams are easy to learn and fast. They are sort of like an enclosed San Francisco cable car, only longer! People are friendly enough to answer your questions like how to get to the Ann Frank house. Going farther out, you might need to know more of the area. But the Canal Bus is a slow road to China to get to the museums. You need to do it at least once.

Amsterdam Airport Private Arrival Transfer

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Glad to see our driver. I forgot to read my instructions, but when I did, we easily found our driver who took us in the car pictured in the ad, good airconditioning, right to our hotel. I thought that the gratuities were included in the price when we purchased the transfer. But the driver reminded me firmly that it wasn't. Have to double check this still. It is overpriced for how little driving was involved to our hotel. But when you are tired, having someone there was worth it.

London Cruise Port Private Arrival Transfer

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review

The driver was at our meeting point in about 10 minutes. However, he also picked up another two drops at the same point. Though we were dropped off at our hotel first, we thought this was a private transfer. It was a bit expensive for a multiple drop arrangement.

Paris Shuttle Arrival Transfer: Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG)

Paris, France

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The airport was confusing, but once we found our gate, the shuttle was there in about 15 minutes. He was gracious enough to take two other couples rather than making them wait for their own shuttle. Good job!

Civitavecchia Departure Transfer: Central Rome to Cruise Port

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Driving in and out of Rome is a nightmare. This transfer was great and got us to the ship for our cruise in great time. However, the cost is misleading. The quote was 47person IF you have 8 people! Otherwise you have to pay the full fare of about 250 which is too much. I found that your hotel can arrange transportation to Civitavecchia for about 100 for two.

Skip the Line: Vatican Museums Walking Tour including Sistine Chapel, Raphael's Rooms and St Peter's

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
We had a great guide. It was easy to find the meeting site. I wouldn't recommend going through the museums without a guide. The St. Peter's Bacilica tour you can do on your own and it is free. You can even see the tombs of the popes including the door to St. Peter's burial site.

This is a great way to see the city first and get oriented. The second day we began to get off to see some of the things that interested us. The ear phones give you information in your language along with pleasant music.
