New Orleans Original Cocktail Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
My Review: Absolutely enjoyed this tour, although it might best be called a culinary history tour, not just a cocktail tour. Getting an inside view of some of the city's best restaurants, as well as hearing the history of New Orleans through it's food and drink was a pleasure. It was even more enjoyable than the previous walking history tour I took last visit. Would recommend it...and you don't even have to drink to enjoy it!

New Orleans Vampire Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
My Review: This tour was very interesting despite the cold night. It afforded us the opportunity to safely walk the French Quarter after dark, taking in the nuances and beauty unseen in the daylight. Great pics. However, there were two negatives. One, there seemed to be a literal traffic jam of night tours--often we ended up in the same block as one or two others, making it difficult to hear our guide. Two, we didn't know our tour would include a 15 minute rest stop at a very crowded local bar filled with another tour group. Plus our tour guide, while very knowledgeable, had obviously imbibed while inside, and even had a fresh drink in her hand as we continued the tour. Isn't there a separate "cocktail tour" for this?

Garden District Walking Tour
Tour / Activity
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
My Review: Any lover of historic homes will thoroughly enjoy this tour. Our guide was extremely knowledgeable about the area and provided us with many details related to the history, architecture, ownership, and even price range of these beautiful old homes. The best part was walking the neighborhoods--it certainly gives a much more intimate view of the homes and gives opportunity to see things that would be missed in a vehicle. The worst part, ironically, is the walking. Due to time constraints, we at times had to rush through certain areas. Plus it allows exposure to the elements; the day we went it was drizzling and down in the 30's. Keep this in mind when you prepay this tour, depending upon the season. And remember, the tours are conducted despite the weather--no refunds are given.

New Orleans Cooking Class
Tour / Activity
Location: New Orleans, Louisiana
My Review: We thoroughly enjoyed this activity. The opportunity to watch a professional chef prepare local Louisiana dishes--and then enjoy eating the results for lunch--gave this ticket even more bang for our buck. If you like cooking shows, this is for you!
