El Escorial was a fascinating place to visit, but the tour was a bit rushed and our tour guide seemed to be "going through the motions". He was not nearly as interesting as the other tour guides we had during our week in Madrid. Also, the Valley of the Fallen was closed for renovation.

My Review
The Tapas Night Walking Tour was the highlight of our trip to Madrid! We really enjoyed learning how to fit in with the locals. It was both fun and educational and it gave us the confidence to go out on our own the rest of the week of our visit. Our tour guide was entertaining and showed us all of the best local food and drinks. On our own, we would not have thought to order octopus, but it turned out to be our favorite dish! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to have a fun night on the town.

This tour was a great way to begin our visit to Madrid. It helped us orient ourselves to the layout of Madrid and helped us decide what we wanted to come back to for a more in depth visit.
