Osaka Full-Day Walking Tour with Osaka River Cruise

Osaka, Japan

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

I expected a walking tour to most of Osaka's attractions but we walked mostly going to the subway and out,, the stations being located quite a distance from the attraction itself and we started late. Anyway, from our meeting place in Granvia Hotel Osaka, we walked to the nearby Umeda Sky building after which we went back to Granvia Hotel for lunch. After lunch, we took the subway to Temmabashi Station where we walked towards
the main tower of the Osaka Castle. We went up to the 5th floor(the elevator is only for going up) and you have to go down on foot as you browse through the museum but since we were given only a few min, there wasn't enough time to see everything. From there, we walked towards the pier located a good distance at the back of the castle for the river cruise. It was the nicest part of the tour which lasted almost an hour. Then we went back to our respective hotels by subway again.

Kamakura, Yokohama and Tokyo Bay Day Trip from Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

The tour started late which was unusual since the Japanese were supposed to be strict on punctuality. Anyway, the tour was well worth it. Our first stop was the Hasedera Temple before going over to the Giant kOTOKUIN Buddha nearby where the views were fantastic. Then we went to Yokohama to have lunch in a Chinese Restaurant which was a letdown because it was supposed to be a lauriat but there was no rice served. It would have been better if we were served authentic Japanese food. I though we would go on a city tour of Yokohama but we only went to the Chinatown.

Tokyo Tower, Tea Ceremony and Sumida River Cruise Day Tour

Tokyo, Japan

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

This tour covers most of Tokyo's attractions especially if you have limited time. It starts at the Tokyo Tower where you can have a panoramic view of Tokyo's Skyline then go to Happo-en Japanese Garden and participate in a Japanese Tea Ceremony which was something unique for me. The Happo-en Garden is quite an attraction in itself being a favorite venue for Japanese weddings.. From there we went to have lunch in Chinzanso Tokyo Garden Hotel located somewhere in the outskirts of the city with beautiful sakura in the garden and lining the Kanda River at the back. We had a taste of Japanese barBQ done right in front of us on our table! And we were all made to wear an oversized bib! Had to have pics taken!. From there, we went around to the Imperial Palace grounds to have a photo stop notwithstanding the rain. Then we hurried to the pier for our Sumida River Cruise. Although it was raining, the view on both sides were still visible. It was just too crowded for comfort!. We were glad to disembark near the ASAKUSA to see the temple and the busy Nakamise St where we bought some souvenirs in a hurry. The Tokyo Skytree can also be seen from Asakusa.. After that we were dropped off in GINZA for shopping and /or go back on our own to our hotels.

Mt Fuji, Lake Ashi and Bullet Train Day Trip from Tokyo

Tokyo, Japan

My Rating

My Review

I was just a little disappointed because since we started late, we weren't able to see Mt Fuji as clearly as we expected since the top was covered with clouds. The lunch we had in a restaurant fronting the Lake Kawaguchi was really good and sumptuous, though.

Auschwitz-Birkenau Museum Half-Day Trip from Krakow

Krakow, Poland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

It was a comprehensive and chilling reminder of man's inhumanity to man during the holocaust. I can't help shedding some tears as I watched the video presentation in the bus as we were on our way to the concentration camps. There, our guide was very knowledgeable and was very informative. Just being there one can't help feeling the anguish of the innocent victims. It's a part of history we should never forget no matter how painful so that we can make sure it will never happen again. Highlight of that tour was being able to see Fr. Maximillian Kolbe's cell #18. He's now venerated by the Catholic Church as a saint.

Pieskowa Skala Castle and Czestochowa including the 'Black Madonna' Day Tour from Krakow

Krakow, Poland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

It was really a surprise for me because I was the only one taking this tour that day, Oct 24, 2013. It was a good thing the tour wasn't cancelled and I was instead referred to an independent travel agency. Imagine I had my own driver cum tour guide in a private car! The Pieskowa Scala Castle was not really that impressive and there were some construction/renovations going on. However, the museum inside was quite impressive! For that alone it was worth the trip! After that, we went straight to the Shrine of the Black Madonna in Czestochowa which was really beyond my expectations! I was able to attend the unveiling ceremony of the icon followed by a mass. Over-all, it was a tour I would really recommend.

We were only 3 in the group that did this tour last Oct 23, 2013 but it was so well organized and comprehensive and our guide, although an elderly, was so knowledgeable and still energetic even with all the walking we did. Most of Krakow's highlights we were able to visit most specially the Wawel Castle and Cathedral, the Main Market Square, Jagellonian University, the Cloth Hall, The Jewish Quarter,Kaziemerz, etc.

Private Round-Trip Transfer: Krakow Airport

Krakow, Poland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

My flight was delayed from Warsaw and I was a little apprehensive when I arrived in Krakow specially when I didn't see my name being displayed by anyone in the arrival area. I was about to ask for help in the tourist information desk when somebody also approached at about the same time carrying a folded piece of paper with my name on it. I was so relieved! Departure was easier because the driver picked me up in my hotel, the Europejski, on time as we agreed.

Royal Castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof Day Tour from Munich

Munich, Germany

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

These beautiful castles are really a must-see. The Linderhof is smaller but more beautiful inside and out while the Neuschwanstein is bigger and really lives up to its name as a fairy tale castle.. Just be prepared for some 1.5 km walk uphill and another walk to the Marienbrucke in order to have the best view of the castle.

It was really more than I expected. With the limited time we had, we have covered at least most of the attractions in Antwerp and Brussels and a little time for shopping as well. And our local guide was most helpful and very knowledgeable of the places we went to with regards to history, its importance and its culture.
I would definiely recommend this tour to others who only have one day to spare to see Belgium.

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

It was simply great! I've been wanting to see Keukenhof for the longest time and this tour was actually a dream come true for me. Seeing all those beautiful flowers specially the tulips arranged masterfully in a harmony of colors is really breath-taking. It is also a testament to man's artistry in creating this garden, the most beautiful I have ever seen. Of course I would definitely recommend this tour to others.

Kyoto Morning Tour of Kinkakuji Temple, Nijo Castle and Kyoto Imperial Palace from Osaka

Osaka, Japan

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

My Review
We went to the Nishi Homanji Temple I don't know if this is the same as Kinkakuji Temple then to the Nijo Castle & finally the Golden Pavilion. We didn't go to the Imperial Palace. All these are Unesco Heritage sites & really worth seeing. Unfortunately, it rained the whole time we were there! and worse my shoes gave up on me and there was nowhere to buy a replacement except the Handicrafts Center which was the last stop of the tour! Imagine my predicament in the Golden Pavilion!

Osaka Afternoon Walking Tour with Osaka River Cruise

Osaka, Japan

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review
I was a little disappointed because it was not really a walking tour; we took the subway to get to the Osaka Castle, where we were given only a few minutes inside, not enough time to see the museum. Worse, I was left behind! It would have been better if we were briefed on where we should go in case we got separated from the group like I did. Good thing the tour guide came back for me after I tried to contact the tour operator in spite the language barrier. I was helped by a kind Japanese couple who explained my predicament to them & who accompanied me to where the river boats were moored.
