skipping the line is the only way to go....you could see hundreds of people waiting in line to get in and we just followed our representative right in,...she gave us a couple of tips, and we were free to roam and explore....for me this was perfect...i could take my time exploring the etruscan and egyptian rooms, the various paintings, etc...

skipping the line, especially at the academia is the only way to go....Our tour guide was very informative and quite interesting....we did the academia first which i felt was wonderful and then after a short break met at the uffizi gallery...will say that though it was stil very good, by the end of the uffizi we were done in from all of the information....if you have time, i would suggest splitting the tour over two days....
