Pompeii Day Trip from Rome
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Monica, our tour guide on the bus to and from Mt. Vesuvius and Pompeii was lovely and helpful, and the climb up Vesuvius gives you a wonderful view at Naples and the surrounding area, and into the volcano crater. Simon, our tour guide in Pompeii was informative, funny and engaging. I have wanted to see Pompeii for many, many years, and Simon helped make the most of our time there. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and would recommend it to anyone!!!

Illuminated Rome Night Tour with Aperitivo
Rome, Italy
My Rating

After a glass of wine and some apertizers at a local eatery by the Spanish Steps, Natasha, our tour guide, took us on an evening walk through the streets of Rome, pointing out the highlights of the city, and it's hidden treasures you can only reach on foot. The last part of our tour was by bus, and it was great to see St. Peter's Square and the Colosseum lit up at night. A very nice tour.

Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour
Rome, Italy
My Rating

Our tour guide, Francesca, was an archeologist (and a lovely young woman) who helped bring the Colosseum and ancient Rome alive with her in-depth information and passion for her subject. The Roman artifacts are beautiful to look at, but having a guide with such a wonderful knowledge of the area and it's history was a true blessing. I highly recommend this tour!

My Rating

The first half of our tour was through the Vatican Museums, summer and winter palace, the Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's. WOW! I knew it would be impressive, but it was almost overwhelming. Our guide, Simon, was probably the best of all our tour guides. Not that we had any bad ones, he was just so incredibly articulate and passionate about the vatican and it's artwork and history that I wish I could give him more than five stars. It's wonderful being on a tour where you are a small enough group that the guide can actually answer all your questions. And while the Vatican was packed and seemed to have lines of people everywhere, we never had to wait anywhere. I was particularly impressed by Simon's respect for the Vatican from a religous point of view, but also the way he balanced that with the 'back story' and the scientific facts about everything. And his history of the artists who made all that wonderful art was fascinating. I highly recommend this tour, and hopefully you will be lucky enough to have Simon as your guide. He is amazing!
