I ordered the car to collect us at JFK airport. We were due to land at 19.20pm we arrived at 19.15pm.
We cleared customs and were in the main part of the terminal at 19.45. There was nobody to greet us. I rand the emergency contact number at 19.50 to find out what was happening, they said a greeter was there waiting with a signage board with my name on, and she would direct us to the car. When I said the wasn't anyone to greet me they said they would call me back - they never did. My collegue went looking for the greeter, she was outside drinking a soda and on the phone, by now it was 20.00. She did not apologise for the delay and was quite disinterested. All she said was the car was in the parking area and would be here in 2-5 minutes and she went outside to call him.
At 20.15 the car had still not arrived and the greeter had not come back so I called the emergency number again to ask what was happening and had planned to tell the to cancel and we were going to get a taxi. During this phone call the girl came back and said the car had arrived. She took us to the car waiting at the curb and then promptly left. The driver was not friendly either, did not say hello or introduce himself and infact did not talk to us during the journey until we arrived at our hotel. He did however have a very heated conversation on the telephone with someone which we could not help but listen to.
I have used Viator many times for tours in the past, but the service this time was appaling and it reflected badly on the company.
