Circle Line: Beast Speedboat Ride

New York City, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Sit in the back row! That's the splash zone. And hold on to your hats and sunglasses - this tour really puts the "speed" in "speedboat". It's a nice touch that the boat driver idles at the Statue of Liberty so people can take their photos. Then all the sudden you're speeding back to the piers! It's quick, fun way to get out on the water and get some excellent shots of the statue and skyline.

Statue of Liberty Tall Ship Sailing Cruise

New York City, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
We had perfect weather for our sailboat ride out to Lady Liberty. It was smooth sailing (which is good for me since I tend to get a little seasick...) and the crew was friendly and bar staff attentive. My group of 5 found a comfortable spot to admire the views and put our beers down and while the boat was full there was plenty of room to walk around. It was a nice relaxing day out on the water and we admired views of the skyline, Statue of Liberty, various bridges and other boats going by. Be sure to bring a camera! And take a moment to watch the crew hoist the mast - it's quite a feat!

Viator Exclusive: Niagara Falls Day Trip from New York by Private Plane

New York City, New York

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
From the minute we boarded the coach, complete with leather seats, to the moment we parked alongside the 30 seat private plane, we knew that we were in for a real VIP experience. And VIP it was from start to finish. The flight crew were all personable and extremely outgoing people which made the short 1 hour and 10 minute trip even that much more enjoyable. When we booked, we decided to visit the US Side of Niagara Falls as we had heard that it was both spectacular and more than we could ever imagine. I must say, we were spot on with our decision. One of the first attractions we visited was the The Maid of the Mist boat cruise which not only took us within feet of the towering and impressive US side of the Falls, but as well into the basin of Canada's Amazing Horseshoe Falls. While you are outfitted with slickers, it's hard to avoid getting a bit damp from the falls but it is well worth it and perhaps a once in a lifetime experience which we will talk about for years on end. The US Side of the tour also provided us with multiple viewing points of the Falls, whitewater rapids, in addition to a host of other attractions which were also included as part of the day's experience.

My Photos

  • Great photo opps from both sides of the falls
  • Very nice flight attendant on board

There's no better way to travel! No cramped airplane seats, and even better - no bland airplane food. The staff was attentive and kept the food and wine coming. The ride is definitely long so bring a book or two (no wi-fi) and don't expect any scenery until you surface. A one-of-a-kind experience!

Wine and Food Pairing Experience at Williamson Wines in Healdsburg

Healdsburg, California

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
The Legacy Tasting was way above and beyond the average wine tasting experience! Not only was every taste expertly paired with delicious bites, but our host, Reese, was on hand to walk us through every varietal and why the components of each dish made it so complementary to the wine. He didn't rush us, spending a good amount of time talking about the tastes and answering our questions, all without the slightest air of pretentiousness. The winemakers, Bill and Dawn, also greeted us before the tasting and stopped in occasionally to add more insight on the wines and their favorite recipes to pair them with. The pours were generous and numerous and the food plentiful! After getting our fill of great wine, food and pairing knowledge, we walked out with our favorite bottle (the rose will surprise you!) and headed straight to the market for dinner ingredients to go with it. My boyfriend and I (and likely a few friends) will surely be back to try the Icon Tasting next with the reserve wines.

My Review
This show was a riot! The top-notch performers had everyone laughing and clapping along the whole night. My mom and I loved it. They perform in a small, intimate theater so everyone gets a good view from their seat. My favorite part was the costumes - the outlandish hats and hairpieces really made the show! I hear that they change up the characters and songs to go along with current events so I'll definitely be going again to see what they come up with next.

5-Day Salkantay Trek and Machu Picchu Tour from Cusco

Cusco, Peru

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
I definitely recommend this trek to anyone coming to Peru and looking for some adventure. This is the best way to get a sense for the country's incredible natural beauty and fascinating culture and history. Everywhere we went we were met with stunning scenery and warm greetings from locals. The hike itself was tough at times but always rewarding with the view from the top. You do need to be reasonably fit but the guides are good about tailoring the pace to your needs. And Machu Picchu on the last day is just the cherry on top! Experience the Falls: Niagara in a Barrel

Niagara Falls, Canada

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review
You haven't experienced Niagara Falls until you've gone over them in a barrel! The guide was prompt with pick-up from my hotel and the boat crew was friendly. I strongly recommend taking some sort of anti-nausea pills beforehand as the current is pretty choppy. Conditions were perfect for my ride over the falls and the 43 seconds of free fall was like nothing I'd ever experienced - exhilarating! My only complaint is that the photographers took too long getting their shots - we were apprehended by the police within a few minutes of being on shore. But if they can be a little quicker I think this would be a 5-star tour for sure!

This was a great day out in wine country! It was nice to escape the city fog and enjoy the sun shining over the lush vineyards. And this was more than a wine tasting experience - we learned how to blend our own wine at Ravenswood, explored the gallery at Imagery, admired the fountain and gardens on Landmark's outdoor patio, and sampled cheese, chocolate and olive oil in and around Sonoma. My Review
We had a great time on this tour! It ended up being a small group of us, all nice people visiting from different parts of the world. It was fun to do it as a local though and I feel lucky that I have the ability to visit these places again soon! Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable, but he didn't overwhelm us with the information and history, nor did he hover too closely at the wineries. You know you’re working with a professional when they tell you if they have to remind you twice – you’re off the line! The instructor won’t tolerate anyone messing around and rightly so. Guns are weapons and this tour teaches you how to use them properly and more importantly, safely. And what better place to do it than in the desert amongst amazing views. You shoot at targets, and the area is cleaned up after you’re done, so no harm is being done to the surrounds. I would highly recommend this tour.

Loved it! What can I say? The guide was awesome and really knew his stuff – everything from the trails to the desert plant life and wildlife. We chose to add on the firearms option and I have to say – our instructor totally had safety on his mind. He was a former soldier and sniper, so we knew we were getting expert guidance and we even got to keep our targets. The environment is extremely important to these guys and they make sure it’s looked after. That’s important to me too, so I am more than happy to recommend this to anyone going to Phoenix.
