Shakespeare's Globe Theatre Tour and Exhibition

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Even though I knew quite a bit about Shakespeare and how his plays were staged, it is still worth a visit and tour of the Globe Theatre. The tour guide was very knowledgeable and were able to elaborate on information I knew, as well as correct information I was previously taught. Very informative!

Amsterdam Walking Tour

Amsterdam, Netherlands

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review

Terry was an absolutely fantastic guide! As there were only 4 of us on the tour, it was at a nice leisurely pace with even a coffee break built in halfway! We learnt a lot about the history, politics, and culture of Amsterdam. We saw many sights and also learned a lot! Terry was very informative and funny, and a great story teller! I would highly recommended WOW Tours to anyone visiting Amsterdam!

Kutna Hora Day Trip from Prague

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

We were dismayed to find out this tour was with the tour operator we had gone on a One Day Sightseeing Tour of Prague with and who treated us awfully. Once again, we left 1/2 hour late, as the bus was late picking up some teenagers from a hotel. While we waited, several people asked where the bus was and they didn't seem to have a clue where or how long it would be when it arrived. Unfortunately, we had the same tour guide as our One Day Tour, Georgina, whose English is completely incomprehensible. She rushed us through all the sites and left places even when she knew people were in the washroom or the group of teenagers were still inside an attraction. She again ignored the questions I asked of her or answers I offered when she asked the group questions (I guess she doesn't like Canadians).

Prague in One Day Sightseeing Tour

Prague, Czech Republic

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review

I would advise everyone to stay away from this company! Our "supposedly" English speaking guide was completely incomprehensible. They whiz by pretty much everything and only stop at Prague Castle. Although she asks if people have questions, she ignored every question I had for her and focused only on the 1 German, and 6 American tourists (we're from Canada). Then when we got to Prague Castle, she had the gall to ask if I would be able to do the 1 1/2 hour walk when I got off the bus because I wear leg braces. Least to say, I had no problems with the walk, however, an elderly couple from the USA were constantly lagging behind and having trouble with the stairs and steep paths, but she never dared to insinuate to them that they might have problems with the walk. I was not impressed with her tact (insinuating I couldn't do a 1 1/2 hour walk and ignoring every question I asked her about Prague) or her English. Also, the tour started 20 minutes late because she was waiting for 8 people who hadn't shown up (and never did), as well as 1 of the Americans who decided to leave the bus even though we were 15 minutes late to use the washroom.

Aran Islands Scenic Flight and Galway Tour from Dublin

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better

My Review

This is less of a tour and more like organized transportation. They basically load you onto a train (there is no "hosted train travel"), then in Galway lead you to a bus that drives you to an airport, load you on a plane, and then onto another bus, which drives you around Inis Mor where a driver sort of kinda tells you about Inis Mor. BTW-those incapable of climbing mountains need not apply as the "walk" to Dun Aengus fort is more of a 15 minute walk uphill on gravel roads then a 15 minute climb up slippery, uneven rocks on a steep hill. You get about 2 hours there but if you're slow, you'll need almost the whole time to get up there and won't get much if any time to eat. We also didn't have any time in Galway, about 15 minutes, not the hour they tell you, so definitely not enough time to explore and shop. Overall, we felt mislead, and the day didn't start off very well with the supposed "guide" of the trip spilling a whole cup of tea on my husband, who wound up with soaking wet pants and our backpack of supplies soaking wet as well. Speaking with others on the trip on the way home on the train, we all felt that we didn't receive what we were promised. Skip this tour and just head over to Galway on your own, you'll have a better time and probably save some money.

Dublin Historical Walking Tour including Trinity College

Dublin, Ireland

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Our guide was very knowledgable, enthusiastic, and humorous. Do note that this is not a sight seeing tour, so if that's what you are looking for you should find something else. You will however walk away with a very thorough understanding of Dublin's political history and some interesting facts that you can share with your friends. Both educational and entertaining, I would recommend this tour to others!

Leeds Castle, Canterbury Cathedral and Dover

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

We enjoyed our tour with Evans Evans tours, as we had taken a previous tour and again this guide was knowledgable, and humorous, and very thorough about ensuring people knew where to find restrooms, coffee, tea, and food, as well as what time and where to meet the bus. We never felt rushed and had lots of time to see both the attractions and the town. Again, the only reason I would not give a 5 star review is that the guide spoke far too much because after a while, you just don't want to hear running commentary about what you are seeing when the countryside whizzes by you.

Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and Bath Day Trip from London

London, United Kingdom

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review

Although it was a long day, I would hesitate to recommend an Evans Evans tour to anyone. The guide was incredibly knowledgable and humorous as well. We had plenty of time to see Stonehenge, Windsor Castle and the Roman Baths, as well as time to wander around Bath. We never felt rushed, and the guide always let us know right at the beginning where the washrooms were and where we could find coffee and food. The only thing preventing me from giving a complete 5 stars is that the guide perhaps talked a bit too much. There was literally non stop commentary on the drive out to Windsor, Bath and Stonehenge, which was a bit too much after a while.

Mont Saint Michel Day Trip

My Rating
3 star rating: Worth doing

The tour of Mont Saint Michel was long, but nice! A great way to get out there without having to try to worry about it on your own and to learn a bit about the town. My only complaint would be about the lunch that we were served.

Paris Chocolate and Pastry Food Tour

My Review
If you love chocolate, take this tour!!! Adam, our guide was fabulous! He told us lots about chocolate, how it's made, how it should be kept, types, origin, truffles, ganauche, it goes on! He also talked a bit about the area, the culture, how and why certain "names" are more famous than others. All the shop owners seemed to know him quite well! Were very friendly and welcoming and he was very humorous! It was the best food tour I've had!

Paris Food Walking Tour: Gourmet French Food

Paris, France

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Brigitte our guide was very knowledgeable not only about food, but the area we were in! Along the way to the stops, we saw where Ernest Hemmingway stayed, learnt about the architecture of buildings, and about the area! The foie gras, cheese and wine were excellent! She kept offering us more samples and even packed a "doggy bag" for my husband and I as there was both baguette and cheese left over! This tour is well worth it and you will learn a lot about where to buy good bread, cheese and foie gras!

Our guide Celine was wonderful and knowledgeable. She was constantly telling us tidbits about Paris, even along the way to pick up other groups at their hotel and on the way home as well. There was just enough time at each stop to take photos and wander around and explore. This tours definitely gives you a good overview of Paris, and allows you to see what you may want to visit more of.

Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Walking Tour

Berlin, Germany

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review
This is a very interesting and informative tour. If you have the time, stay at the site after the tour to explore some more on your own as there is not even remotely enough time on the tour to see very much. There is much to see, read and explore and this tour does a very good job of hitting the important points. A note that you should bring food with you that you can eat while walking as there is no where to purchase food, and no time to sit and eat it.

Our guide, Johanna was excellent! Although it is a very very brisk walk, you cover a lot of sights and a lot of information in 4 hours. The tour was very informative, and although quick, she spoke long enough at each stop to give everyone time to take plenty of pictures. I would highly recommend this tour to get a sense of what sights you may want to come back and explore more, and to get oriented with the major areas of Berlin.

Taste of Italy Food Tour to Chianti and Umbria from Rome

Rome, Italy

My Rating
1 star rating: I do not recommend this

My Review
I booked this tour based on the over whelming number of good reviews on Viator. However, this tour is falsely advertised and found an overwhelming number of negative reviews on another website warning fellow travellers to stay away. This is NOT a food tour. The only food we received was 3 slices of bread with spreads (olive oil, a mushroom spread, and a pepper spread) prior to lunch with a very small sampling of wine (not at or anywhere near Lake Trasimeno, but outside of the restaurant where their main goal is to get everyone to buy their products. There was certainly no cheese, salami or ham as advertised). If you are expecting a food lovers tour and to taste any local produce of the region, you will be sorely disappointed as it was more of a sight seeing tour. Lunch was not at a typical rural restaurant but at a rural hotel, a mediocre plate of pasta with eggplant, then what we thought might be pork with a slice of grilled bell pepper, followed by a stale cake drizzled with chocolate for desert. It also fails to mention the extreme hills and stairs. This tour IS NOT wheelchair friendly. I am a fairly able bodied person with leg braces and the hills are steeper and more difficult than those in San Francisco, particularly in Cortona, along with the cobblestoned streets, it is a very difficult tour physically. As well, there is no way a wheelchair could visit the wine cellars in Montepulcia as there are many narrow stairs. If you go, go to see the sights, but do not expect it to be as advertised.

Skip the Line: Ancient Rome and Colosseum Half-Day Walking Tour

Rome, Italy

My Rating
4 star rating: Recommended

My Review
Our guide clearly knew a lot about the Colloseum, ancient Rome and architecture. Although it was fairly crowded, the headsets allowed us to always hear our guide. As well, she often used it to let everyone know where she was when it got crowded, so even if you fell behind or got caught behind other groups, you could always find the group as she was very always very careful to let people know what direction she was headed and where the group was stopping so that you could find them. It was a lot to fit into very little time, but it was very informative and there wasn't a single question that she could not answer. Highly recommend this tour if you're interested in Ancient Roman history!

Rome Angels and Demons Half-Day Tour

Rome, Italy

My Rating
5 star rating: Highly Recommended

My Review
Our tour guide Kelsey was excellent! We would highly recommend this tour to anyone! As an American, of course she spoke excellent English and was very enthusiastic! We saw the sites in the book and she told us about the differences between the book, the movie and the reality! It was an excellent, whirl wind of a tour! Best of all, as there are rarely any places to use a restroom for free in Rome, the tour company not only arranges a bathroom break part way through the tour, the coffee at the coffee break is included in the price of the tour (also very rare as we found out with other tour companies in the city). Definitely go o this tour! You will get a great overview of Rome!
