Athens Hop-on Hop-off Tour

My Review: As far as I'm concerned this is the first thing you should do when visiting a new city. It's a great way to orient yourself. This tour actually gives you a 2nd day free, so you can use it in lieu of public transportation. We were lucky to have stop around the corner from our hotel.

Venice Gondola Ride and Serenade

My Review: This was our 2nd time in Venice, and our 2nd time booking a gondola -which is an absolute "must do" to complete the Venitian experience. I was, however, disappointed with our particular experience. Unlike some of the other reviews, there was no problem hearing the person singing - he used a micro phone and amp. What I was disappointed with was the musical selection. It was like being serenaded to by Frankie Valle...nothing wrong with Frankie, but it's not what I want to hear for a romatic interlude on the Grand Canal. The gonoliers outside our hotel room provided more romance and Venitian ambiance than this did. I still think it was a good value, but if there's any way to preview the singer, then by all means, do so.

My Review: We purchased a two day pass and found that it wasn't worth it. Westminster Abbey was NOT included in this and many of the art museums are free anyway. Perhaps a 1 day pass might be a better value if you plan your day and go where the pass can be utilized. The other issue is the fact that you have to go to the Visitor Center to redeem the voucher, and that wasted almost the entire morning. Also, until you receive the guide which is given to you upon redemption of the voucher, you don't know all of the values that are available. For ex., I had already purchased the Hop On Hop Off pass and it was actually discounted through London Pass.

Paris by Night Illuminations Tour and Paris Moulin Rouge Show

My Review: The Illuminations tour was very good. The cruise down the Seine was also enjoyable. I was somewhat disappointed with the show at the Moulin Rouge. I was expecting it to be of higher caliber - more 'Las Vegas' in costumes, etc. I would not have wanted to go to Paris without doing this though.
