Las Vegas, Nevada
Our pick up from the hotel was at 6:00 am and you would think that we would have had enough time to spend at least 4 hours at the Canyon. We upgraded to include a helicopter ride to the bottom of the canyon and a boat ride on the Colorado. We were informed that we would have PLENTY of time to see everything. Well we didn't. The bus departure was poorly organized. We did not arrive at the canyon until 1:00 having spent 10 minutes at the dam. We had to wait for the helicopter ride. We rushed our time at the skywalk which also had a line up and missed two other sites to visit at the canyon. We did not have time for the lunch which was included in the price of the tour. We were late returning to the waiting bus who expected us back by 4:15. Well that is not possible. The bus driver complained about the drive all the way there and even more on the way back. Having been a tour guide myself, I found his complaints unacceptable. The scheduling was terrible. A simple solution would be to have a separate bus for the tourists who take advantage of the helicopter and boat tour since it takes much longer. The highlight of my trip was the Grand Canyon and the worst experience was the terrible bus tour company. I will be writing them with my comments.
Our trip was an exceptional experience. It was our first time in a Phaeton limo, our first time on the autobahn, and the tour of Nuremberg with a sophisticated, knowledgeable guide was a surprise treat. We especially were impressed with the tour at the Documentation Centre, a piece of history not to be forgotten.
