Tour of caves was memorable,awe-inspiring, must bring a camera. 2 hours, must be in good shape to walk up stairs. Guide was superb and very knowledgeable.
Only 2 negatives: long bus ride, 3 hours up and back. Leave at 7, back at 7.
Do not take tram or sky rail, can see gorge, water falls from scenic walk.
Lunch stop was good, food reasonably priced for Australia. Pay double vs. USA. for a candy bar, coke, etc Condiments not included, pay $.90 for ketchup
Caves are worth it, on a par with Grand Canyon,Flume and White Mts. of NH in appreciating nature and its gifts provided for us.
All worth seeing. Aquarium was best ever, have traveled to Europe and USA/Canada.
Buy a 7 day MultiPass which gives you unlimited travel by ferry, bus, and train for under $50 per person from 6am to 12pm.Go to Manley Beach. Great place to shop, even have an ALDI's for good prices on groceries, snacks, drinks, etc. Great beach to surf, swim.
Not worth the money. Can see better coral via Sydney Aquarium. Snorkeling was limited. Glass boat was not as advertised. It was in a 10 foot boat with a cut out section. Narrative was o.k. but can learn more from taking a guided tour from snorkeling first time out. Second reef was too shallow and dangerous for an inexperience snorkler. Food was plentiful and good. Had to pay for drinks, liquor, wine.
Lucky Phil was great fun on way back with his music via guitar/harmonica entertaining everyone.
Wonderful place to shop, very friendly. nice place to have lunch. Train ride and Railway were very impressive from seeing the vastness of the mountain ranges and waterfalls. Does not compare to Hawaii, Rocky Mts, and White Mountains of USA. More suited for family with young children. We are in our 60's and have travelled extensively.
Cairns, Northern Beaches or Palm Cove area
Life-time experience. Need to be in shape. Unbelievable rush from start to finish. Every time you look back from last rapid, you can not believe you survived. "Fish" was the best guide. Only negative is you rid all clothing at the end outdoors changing in to fresh clothes. Bring long cover ups and big towels. Not mentioned in brochure. Would do again. Check it out on U Tube. Unreal 2 hours in am and again in pm.
Rotorua, New Zealand
Must do the luge rides if you love adventure and being on the edge. You can get seriously hurt on expert ride. Gondola ride was good, can appreciate vastness and beauty of area with mountains in the background. All gondola rides are about the same in Australia, depends what you want to see.
