Travel Recommendation
Rome
My Recommendation Tip
We took the "Rome in a day" tour while on our Cruise. This was one of the smartest things we did. We were able to see some of the most important site that we wanted to see and all in one day. Vatican City, Sistine Chapel, St Peter's Basilica, the Roman Coliseum and more. You are picked up at the dock with an air conditioned bus to downtown Rome (60 min ride). Each place you visit the tickets are included and you skip the lines. You get a break about half way through the tour at a place they have set up and have lunch that is also included. Never would we have been able to get through Rome like this and see everything we hoped to see without this tour. The price you pay is half of what the tour is worth. We had the cutest guide on the bus while driving to Rome. You see alot in a short period of time but you don't feel rushed. The entire time you are with a English speaking guide to point out important works and answer questions. An all day tour that will leave you tired but fulfilled. Some walking involved but nothing to wear you out. I could go on and on but if you are cruiseing to Rome out of Civitavecchia, take this tour. You won't regret it.

This tour was an all day tour. It was mainly a architectural tour. Lots to see in Barcelona but if you only have one day, this is the tour for you. It was broken down into two tours. The morning you visit the Barcelona highlights. Then you have time for lunch (on your own). Later you jump back on the bus and visit the architechure works of Gaudi.

Very interesting tour. You get to see a lot in a half-day tour. They give you plenty of time to walk around each island on the tour. Each is interesting in it's own way. Murano, for example, they put on a glass blowing exibition for the tour. They do rush you through the shop though. They have tours coming in behind you and want you to buy your stuff quickly. Well worth the money to take this tour. While the wife shopped in Burano, I would hit the food shops. This Island is famous for it lace and they make the best cookies, much like shortbread cookies but soft as the almost desolve in your mouth. I would recommend this tour.
