we took the morning trip on 20 Dec. Having read the travel book before this trip, I would say, it is still worth it, as the typical travel book will not tell you all the story. The 3- 4hours trip will make sure you will not miss out anything important. In fact, I think it should take 5-6 hours to visit the whole vatican trip. But you still have time after the trip to visit on your own pace..... well done
