Vienna City Bike Tour

My Review: This was not a long tour, but it was great, hitting most of the high points in central Vienna, including the government, historical, and cultural institutions. The tour was in both German and English, and the guide split the group but gave complete descriptions to both. The pacing was very good, and the guide was very careful to take advantage of bike lanes where available, and to walk through pedestrian areas when necessary. I would absolutely recommend this, and perhaps even suggest the longer afternoon tour as well.

Budapest Sightseeing Tour by Bike

My Review: This tour was the classic combination of "good news, bad news". The tour itself was extensive, covering huge areas of both Buda and Pest. The guide was well-informed, and her English was excellent. Bike lanes on streets and sidewalks made getting around much of the city easy and convenient. But there were other places, where the tour went through very heavily trafficked pedestrian areas, where the pedaling was slow and difficult. It would have been easier to walk the bikes. It was in one of these that our guide lost one of the tour members, who found his way back to the start point two hours later. The tour also wrapped up with a very stiff climb up to Buda Castle. And the included lunch didn't come until almost 3 in the afternoon - which was a little tough for some of the older folks. The tour itself was great, but I would only recommend it if you're in pretty good shape. Bring your own GPS.

Prague City Sightseeing Tour

My Review: The tour was in two languages, German and English. And because the guide needed to cover the same points in both, there was very little coordination between the places described and when we actually got to them. It was frustrating. The tour was quite comprehensive and provided a good overview of Prague that enabled us to go back to the places we found of interest on the tour.

Berlin Bike Tour

My Review: This was a great tour. It covered a huge part of the former East Berlin and a huge public park in the former West Berlin. The tour guide really had his act together, with a combination of information and humor that made for a enlightening and fun experience. The group was large, but he handled it well. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a great way to really see the city from the ground.
