The small group tour allowed us to hear the tour guy (James) better than a larger one. James was very knowledgable in Uluru's history and the stories behind it. Be prepared to dress warmly especially during the early morning. I never thought I would be so close to Uluru but this is a must do if you are in the Red Centre.
