Great way to enjoy the Tuscan countryside, being on a bike means you get plenty of time to take it all in. Plenty of breaks and chances to take photos, and the winery and olive oil tour help you to understand more about the scenery you've been looking at all day! One of my favourite days of 2 weeks spent in Italy.
We had an interesting day as a major traffic accident meant we spent 2 hours on the side of a road between Rome and Pompeii! But this was completely beyond the control of our tour guides, who were friendly and informative. Unfortunately the delay meant that we didn't get to go to Mt Vesuvius, but to make up for it we had an extended tour of Pompeii (the guide was fantastic) and also a 40% discount on our tour, so we really couldn't ask for much more. It's a long day from Rome but worth it if you're not planning on going to Naples or somewhere closer, and it was a nice change after 3 days of queues and hustle and bustle in Rome.
