We were in a small group (4 people including the 2 of us) and there was no wait to get in. Our guide Laura was friendly, funny, knowledgable and moved us through the museum at a comfortable pace. We saw lots but also had time to stay and enjoy some beautiful pieces of art. It would not have been the same going on our own.
We haven't sweat that much...ever lol But it was so worth it. The climb up the stairs was a light warm up to a huge hike, but it was unbelievably beautiful. We weren't prepared for such a huge hike (2km up and 2km down), but we made it, as did people of all ages and physical condition. We did feel rushed, especially at lover's lane, where our tour guide pretty much hovered beside us and told us to keep moving saying we had to catch the train. So we rushed to the train station so we could wait 20min for the train. We understood we had to have a quick pace since there was so much to cover, but we also weren't going super slowly and only wanted to stop to sign our names and share a kiss. We weren't dragging our feet. But besides that, it was a beautiful day. The tour was great and we definitely recommend it, our only complaint was our guide's rushing us when it was not necesarry
WOW. The island and grotto were so gorgeous, well worth spending the extra $$ to go in the grotto, you won't be disappointed. There were two tour guides who were nice, but seemed to take off quickly out of the bus without looking behind to see if we were there, which was annoying. There was an accident on the highway that delayed us for over an hour before getting to the island, but we still got to do everything. It would have been nice to have that extra time there, but we didn't feel like we missed anything. We also trusted our bus driver on the island with our lives as the roads are narrow, steep and terrifying, but with beautiful views. It was a great day
First of all, Graham, our tour guide was entertaining and very informative and made the day great. He really gave us a lot of info about the sistine chapel before we went in so we could really enjoy it. Didn't feel rushed and we were both just constantly blown away by the beauty of the whole place. No delays in entrance and honestly cannot think of anything negative to say about it. LOVED IT
