I would rate the La Sagrada Familia tour as 4 star, and the separate Artistic tour as 2 star, which averages out as a 3 star.
It was definitely worth paying extra to skip the queue for La Sagrada Familiar. Here, the tour guide was friendly, informative and I could understand most of his English. A must see in Barcelona, it really was amazing.
Unfortunately I could not understand the tour guide's English very well on the Artistic tour. There were about 40 people on the tour, which made it feel really impersonal, it was like he was herding cattle through the street! Also the park visit was very rushed. There was little time to explore the gardens, and I would have liked longer to get better photos. This tour, I think, would be better done on the tour bus.
I was really unimpressed with the attitude of the tour company. The directions given by Viator to the Travel office were very vague and misleading, for which they accepted no responsibility or apology; so I recommend leaving at least half an hour extra time to find the office so that you don't miss the tour.
LOVED this tour!! It was by far the best one of my trip to Barcelona. The beautiful Spanish girl who conducted the tour was absolutely lovely, had great local knowledge and showed us quirky parts of the city that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. She taught me the basics about my camera that helped me take great photos, and recommended a fab iPhone/ iPad editing app that has made my photos look amazing! Thank you! The tour could be improved a bit with a quick stop off for some food, due to the hours stretching right through lunch (10am-3pm ish), I was a bit flagging by the end of it! There were only two people on the tour I went on, which was great, but not sure it would work as well if there were the maximum number of people on it.
The staff in the office were rude and dismissive, and didn't explain properly in English. When the driver finally arrived there was no apology or explanation as to why he was an hour late. Fuming!! During the journey he asked me several times which hotel I was staying at, indicating that he didn't have a clue where he was going. Despite giving him the address in writing and verbally on more than one occasion, he STILL dropped me in front of the wrong hotel! I told him I didn't think it was the right one and he mumbled something in Spanish and just drove off! Not what I needed, arriving in a foreign country alone! I definitely would not recommend this shuttle service if you want peace of mind.
Most of the afternoon spent in the minibus, only 15 minutes in Cannes, which really wasn't long enough. Good to do if you want a tour and have no other means.
